Can you survive?
Let us consider a hypothetical scenario where the world has come to an end, not due to a catastrophic event such as a meteorite impact or a zombie invasion, but rather because people had built interstellar ships and left Earth out of boredom. However, a significant number of individuals remained on the planet, but they overslept and missed the last ship's departure, leaving them stranded in a world without infrastructure, electricity, economy, or internet. The question arises as to how these individuals would behave and survive in such a desolate world. To answer this question, we can turn to video games, where a company beta tested a game that would be deleted after 11 weeks. The developers analyzed the gameplay to understand how people would act in real-life situations if the apocalypse were to happen in a few weeks. Interestingly, there was no chaos in the virtual world, and the players treated each other with respect. This research into the simulation of the end of the world can help scientists and sociologists better understand human actions during emergencies and global disasters.
