Just taking some time to talk about the obscure movies I watch. Thanks for reading.
Estimated Budget - $5M Domestic Gross - $3M Captain Picard and Mr. Chekov could not save this film, but I don’t think it needed saving. I don’t know if it was the advertising campaign, premise, or the subject matter, but something killed this film.

Them Duplass boys are at it again (best if read in Waylon Jennings voice). Another film that lost money for no reason. It was a low-brow(ish) comedy that never pretended to be anything it wasn’t.
The late 70s saw quite a few disaster films but this one, released in 1976, sets itself apart for a few reasons. Starting with the ridiculous cast; OJ, Sophia Loren, Marin Sheen? And it doesn’t stop there. Richard Harris and Burt Lancaster along with the guy who played Hyman Roth in Godfather II. Labor cost was high for the time.
This was 1987 baby! Sunny Crockett was doing things with pastels that are still illegal in some southern states and Phillip Michael Thomas was singlehandedly keeping the curl activator industry afloat.* Saturday morning was virtually the only place to find super-heroes and people were wearing Z. Cavaricci pants (ask your parents).
