Flavor in Balance
I’m just gonna get right into it. At sixteen, I diagnosed myself with HS (hidradenitis Suppurativa) through Google. My doctor confirmed it at a same day appointment once I finally told my Mother, I was beyond crushed, confused, and trying to figure out what and who to blame. I suffered with severe symptoms for year’s until I discovered an herbal detox through a colleague at 22 and decided to try it, I trusted myself to be disciplined enough to get through and see some positive results. Before that, I looked at HS strictly as a skin disorder but this was before my further research of autoimmune diseases.

My Niche
I got acquainted with my love for bath and body products really young. Basically anything that could be used for hygiene, I was interested! My favorite aisles at any store would be ( in no particular order), dental care, face/skin products, travel size products, and body washes/lotions. I just love/d the steps in self care from top to bottom; There were a couple of summers in my preteens where I spent large parts of the day doing my own pedicures, YES I had time, like, detailed pedicures with polish and designs, I’d just about perfected a French tip by the time I was 13.

Grey Matter
The salon is where my passion would be fed by the dozens. Fluffy yellowed, wavy snow white, metallic shinning silver curls and coils. They trusted me to transform it. I remember Mama prompting me to search and pluck when I spotted two in her Chaka Khan-esque mane. I found my first silver strand in 11th grade, it sparked joy and fascination in me. A little treasure I could seek and scrutinize after every shampoo, all mine.

Choice of Devotion
Everyone in the house has a quiet smile. In 4 months we'll have a sweet bundle of joy arriving and I'm beaming! A little anxious too just like any expecting mother, right? This is the biggest choice of trust in our relationship; see, Daniel had his daughter Paige with his grad-school sweetheart, she was 6 when we met. I already had my two sweet girls, Eliza and Joy, from the longest engagement ever known to man.
