Caribbean Cool
The blazing heat of the warm sun's glittering rays fall down upon the white sandy beach. A loud thunderous wave crashes onto the shore. I hear someone saying to others that they have to get out of the area, because the tide will becoming in-land shortly. The serene scent of the combination of the sea, the air, and the sand in a calming voice tells me everything will be okay. They will protect me as they have the countless others before me. I wipe the sand off of my body. Picking up my pink and purple surf board, I know it's time. I wonder the the mystical magic of the ocean has in-store for me today. Walking into the water with the board under my arm, I look down to make sure I don't step on the practically invisible, evil creatures that could push their poison into my body by stinging my feet, known only as jellyfish. I have never encountered one, but I have heard the horror stories.

Love Is Madness
I did it. Finally, I have officially moved to West Hollywood, California. I am sitting on my bedroom floor listening to my CD player while unpacking boxes. My cell phone rings. I answer it to my cousin Stevie asking, “Hey, princess. Make it to Cali, yet?”

Vampires, Werewolves, & Zombies...Oh My!
The sun begins to set as my friend, Blaine Sommers and I drive down the highway next to the swamp-lands. Blaine begins to get very tired of driving. I see a rundown motel on the side of the road. We pull in and get a room for the night. While he is watching a football game on the television, I look out the window at the deck hanging over the swamp. I see a hood figure on a tiny row boat heading this way. I tell Blaine, "Blaine, get up. Something or someone is coming this way."

Like A Virgin
I know I am seventeen, but I have my mom drop me off at the Lake County fair, so I could meet up with some friends and celebrate summer before I start my senior year in high school. I throw on tight white jean shorts and a black tank top along with my black and white ADIDAS tennis shoes. Using a scrunchie, I throw my hair up in a ponytail and put on a little make-up.

The Day The Music Died
It's Valentine's Day. I am going to do in two hours what it takes my mom all day to do. I am going to make a romantic dinner for my boyfriend, Mason. I open the jar of Prego, pour it into the pot, and turn the burner on the stove on. I now put on the pot of noodles and boil the water to let the noodles cook. Time to get ready for my date. I take a shower then blow dry and curl my medium length blonde hair. I put on a little make-up and get dressed in my black stretch-velvet even gown with my black and silver high heels. Two hours have passed. I go check on my spaghetti. The sause is black and the noodles are mush. I look at the clock there is no time to throw out the food and start over. Suddenly, there is a knock on the front door. I open the door to Mason holding a dozen of red roses and a small box of chocolate. I have him come in and sit at the dining room table. I say, "I really hope you're not hungry."

Groove is in the Heart
The music is thumping as my best friend, Cindy and I walk into the school dance. Since I didn't have time to go home and change, I'm still wearing my cheerleading uniform. Still being upset from my breakup, I plan on pretending he doesn't exist if I see him. I look up to see an extremely good-looking blond haired guy being our school's new DJ. As Cindy and I are dancing, I look toward the bleachers only to see my ex-boyfriend, Billy Spaulding making out with his new girlfriend, Erin Kessler. A slow song begins to play. I walk up to this new DJ and ask him if he would like to dance. He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. I put my arms around his neck as his arms are around my waist. As we dance and I look into his blue eyes, I ask what cologne he is wearing. He tells me he is wearing Drakkar Noir. I ask his name and age. He is nineteen year old, Paul LaPointe. As the song finishes, I thank him for the dance. I go back over to my friends. Cindy asks me about the DJ. I fill her in on the details. She asks me if he is single. I knew I forgot to ask him something. I tell her I will ask him next time we dance. A few dance songs play. And I ask Paul if he would like to dance. Again, he takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. As we sway to the music, I now ask if he has a girlfriend. He informs me that he is single at the moment. I let him know that I think he is cute, I like him, and I hint around about if he likes me too that he should ask me out. He asks me for my phone number. He suggests I hang out by the DJ booth after the song is over. The song finishes. I walk with Paul up the stage to the DJ booth. Cindy follows me up there. Cindy and I talk about Paul, and I tell her that I really like him, but I am not allowed to ask boys out on dates, they have to ask me out. Cindy opens her big mouth and tells Paul how I am crushing on him, so if he likes me he really needs to ask me to be his girlfriend. I begin blushing. Another slow jam starts playing. This time, instead of me asking Paul to dance, he just takes my hand and we go back on to the dance floor. I notice Billy Spaulding looking at me, so I bring my body closer to Paul's. After a couple of hours, Paul's cologne still smells good. In a way, I am sort of gloating about being a Sophomore dancing with a hot nineteen year old by the way I keep smiling. I ask him if he is really going to call me. He tells me is will call. I feel like I'm in heaven. As this song ends, Paul dips me and gives me a hug. Cindy keeps commenting about me liking Paul, and I keep telling her to leave it alone. If he likes me, he will call. Ten o'clock finally rolls around and the dance is over. My mom is there to pick up Cindy and I from our high school dance to spend the night. I keep thinking that Cindy probably ruined my chances with Paul.
