The second sunrise over the hidden valley arrived an hour after the first. Though smaller and less obviously impressive, especially when obscured by trees, "Little Sister" still offered a second blessing of light and warmth each day to the people of Pachakuti.
Palacio Altair found him wandering through the fog, dressed in only his night shirt. It was early in the morning and it was unclear how long he had been outside. The Emperor was staring out over the valley that had been his home for nearly twelve years and, upon noticing his friend, he explained that he was only awake to see one last sunrise.
Just to give you all a bit of warning, this is my version of a prologue in that it is both a prologue and an epilogue and also neither of those things. Hopefully, this will all make sense to you as you get deeper into the story and the world I'm writing about.
