Emotional Slave
The year is 2050 and we are in the middle of another global pandemic. It is the sixth global pandemic since 2020. They are now a normal part of life. It’s not some future Dystopian society, it’s now. I watch robots delivering the news on a device that used to be called a phone, I still can’t believe this is happening. How did this happen? I am in shock. I will never have the answers.

I was living in London with me ex and it’s 2002 and we’ve been here for 3 years and we’re about to head home to go back to live in Sydney again. We’re devastated to be leaving the place we have called home for the past 3 years and particularly devastated to be leaving the amazing friends we have made here. My ex’s work contract has come to an end and it’s time to go home.

I Have A Crush On You
It was the start of the second term of year nine and a new girl from Sydney had joined our year. She was not in my class but from the moment I laid eyes on her I was in awe of her. Her name was Alex and although you could not describe her as beautiful, she was incredibly striking. Even at fourteen, when she walked into a room she commanded attention. She had poise and such presence that all I could do was look at her every chance I got.

Looking through the eyes of Love
I’m old. Let’s face it I’m probably a good deal older than a lot of people who read the Vocal pieces or write for Vocal but I love TV and all things Netflix, Hulu and some of the Australian streaming services like Stan where I live in Australia. A quiet night at home, especially during winter, just me and my dog and being able to chill and watch a great Netflix or Hulu series, wrapped in a warm blanket, sugary cup of tea in hand, is my idea of heaven.

What the World Needs Now
So through this Pandemic Tik Tok has really become a thing - a phenomena. There's so much content on Tik Tok now it's difficult to know what's even trending and to sift through all the videos. There are like a billion Tik Tok users worldwide in 150 countries with 800 million monthly users.

ICYMI: It's great being different
It's difficult to find really good content to watch on Netflix, Hulu etc. if you are a Lesbian. While I love binge watching shows like Grace and Frankie (I love Grace and Frankie) because it's genuinely funny and deals with a lot of the issues of ageing women like me, being a lesbian I want to watch other Lesbians on the small screen in the comfort of my lounge room.
