98 Dollar Check And Rent Is Due
In the Spring of 1994, I started working for a video recording company that sold copies of television news clips of various news accounts to clients who wanted a copy for themselves for their archives. My job was to research recorded news stories for clients who were featured in a tv news report. This was when VHS and VCRs were still in some use. In this part-time position, the company was paying me $7.25 an hour as a video recording assistant. I could not complain about the pay because it was a job and I fairly enjoyed researching the news clips to package up for our clients. Well, I had been working for this video recording company for about three weeks and payday for me finally came.

A Whisper In My Ear From The Universe
It was Spring of 2013 and I received a call from my mother who was living in a rooming-house in North Philadelphia. She called me to ask if I could go to the University Of Pennsylvania Hospital to pick up her medication from the pharmacy. I said yes. I will go. So, on a seemingly bright sunny, and comfortable weekday afternoon. I proceeded to catch public transportation to make my way to the U of P hospital to pick up my mother's diabetic medications. I arrived at the hospital, checked in with security and found my way to the pharmacy. I waited for a while because there were other patrons waiting for their medicine as well. The pharmacist called me to the window and said I will have to wait a little longer because the doctor prescribed a medication that was not covered by my mother's Medicaid insurance and that they will have to prescribe her the generic version of the medication.

The Bus Token
In March of 2000, I worked in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a non-profit organization National School and Community Corps NSCC. While working for NSCC I was also trained as a VISTA Volunteer In Service To America literacy specialist. As a VISTA I was asked to attend 2-day literacy training in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I was enthusiastic and excited, to say the least, to get the opportunity to visit the Pennsylvania State Capital. The trip accomodations were already paid for transportation, lodging, and food by the VISTA state office. All I needed to do was show up at the 30th street Amtrak train station on the day of departure and meet with my team leader and fellow VISTA volunteers. I can not remember exactly what day that was but I arrived there on time with two luggage bags ready for travel. The train ride to Harrisburg was smooth, quiet, and uneventful. We rolled into Harrisburg, gathered our luggage and a van was waiting for us to take us to the Holiday Inn hotel where we would be staying for the next two days.

How I Trusted The Universe And Manifested $30
The quarter story starts way back in 2013 when I received a gift from a good friend who also was gifted this book titled The Secret. Well, one warm sunny Saturday afternoon I decided to start reading the Secret and came to a point in the book that talks about what you think about you attract to yourself like a magnet. So, this gave me an idea to put this thought creates things theory to practice. The book recommended that a find a quiet place where I would not be disturbed, close my eyes and take a few deep breaths then think of something I really wanted but to start with something small. I begin thinking about a quarter 25 cent piece and since it is made of a metallic substance I thought this would speed up the magnetic process of manifesting what I am thinking about. Sitting on the edge of my bed in my bedroom with eyes closed I started to think the word quarter over and over and over and over and over again. Well, that exercise tired me out and I then laid down to take a nap. After about 30 minutes my son who was about eight or nine years old at the time came into my bedroom and said dad there is someone on the phone for you. Coming awake from my 30 - minute nap I went to pick up the phone and the person on the other end asks me if I was available to notarize some documents for her on Sunday because she had to leave town first thing Monday morning and needed my services right away. I told her I normally do not notarize documents on Sundays but I will make an exception for her this time since it was crucial for her to get the documents notarized right away.
