The Obi System
The Obi System by Henry Bernstein I was sitting in a kitchen that night. The windows were dark, like it was always night in that kitchen. It was a room in which I'd never been before. May have seen it once in a TV show. The way the black tiles on the floor were warped, not uniform, becoming a new iteration of themselves every time I looked. It was certainly a kitchen I would have remembered, the tablecloth and window curtains changing color on sight. But in its unfamiliar I felt warm and meaningful, like I was supposed to be there.
