Cancer The perfect astrology sign for summer, Moon ruled Cancerians represent love for family, heritage, and home. The feminine aspect of the Moon gives Cancer nurturing, reflective and intuitive natures. The adaptive and fluid water element for Cancer is the second heaviest element. There are three signs with the water element so Cancer is joined by signs Pisces and Scorpio.

Gemini Season 2021
Gemini Gemini is one of the original constellations of the 'Wheel of Animals' that make up our zodiac. It is the first of the zodiac signs to have human representation. Ancient Babylonians had 12 constellations, with the forgotten 13th we know as the 'Serpent Bearer' Ophiuchus who only has a two week window of our Sun traveling through him right before Sagittarius. Gemini is one of the 48 recorded constellations by the Greek astronomer, Ptolemy during the 2nd century. Today the International Astronomical Union (IAU) defined 88 constellations in total.

Our Moon is busy this summer! We are in the middle of three consecutive Supermoons, and on May 26, 2021 we get a total lunar eclipse while our Moon is visiting zodiac sign Sagittarius. It will be a Sagittarius Full Moon and as long as it's viewed at night this lunar eclipse will be safe to watch. When the moon falls into the shadow of Earth blocking our Sun, we get a lunar eclipse. To signify the wildflowers that bloom during May, the first full moon of the month has been called the Flower Moon. The mood will feel especially charged because this Flower Moon is a totally lunar eclipsed supermoon. The Supermoon effect happens because our moon will swing the closest to Earth during its transit in what astronomers and astrologists refer to as a 'perigee'. A lunar 'apogee' is the farthest distance away from us. Coincidentally, this will also be a very rare Blood Supermoon. The partially obscured moon will not only appear bigger than usual, it turns an orange-reddish hue as the moon passes through the Earth's shadow.

We are now smack-dab in the middle of Taurus season which ends May 21st this year. Using my Astrology & Skincare advice, the two weeks after Scorpio Full Moon should have been a time to purify our skin, using a product like The Body Shop's Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Mask which specifically removes polluting impurities.

The Moon
In cultures around the world, studying the moon and stars was a way to tell time. It was important to keep a planting schedule in agriculture, to foretell the coming of the seasons, and the phases of our Moon also helped as a way to keep track of time on a daily basis.

Our last Astrology & Skincare event earlier this month was the Aries New Moon. I began this series with that transit and I hope you enjoyed it! If you have never read my blogs before (or only read the blogs I wrote under my pen name!) you can read the first blog for my 'Mooncare' series, and also find out more about my love for The Body Shop and what their mission is by clicking the link below:

We love our Moon! The cycles of the Moon have always come in useful to us. Even today farmers still use the stars and moon for planting, harvesting, and keeping track of weather patterns. Sailors still use the position of the stars and moon to stay on course, and even just recently the gravitational pull that our Moon has on the tides was helpful in pulling a boat from the Suez Canal. There's a nice article on Space.com about it and you can check it out here.
