I have had the pleasure of consuming many art forms and literature that depicted the adventures and stories of duos in my lifetime. From Tom and Jerry, Bill and Ted, to Batman and Robin, and Han Solo and Chewbacca. While all of these were conceptualized by a woman or a man. These duos ascend their humanly concept and exist in a lot of our minds as an icon beyond our imagination. They will always exist in our memories and live on as long as we remember the tears, laughter, and overall entertainment they gave us in the different phases of our lives. So as far as I searched my memory for the most iconic duo to have ever done it. I finally came to rest on the charismatic genius detective and his capable pragmatic doctor partner in crime.
It has been about 5 months now living abroad in the country side of South Korea. Among the many habits I brought with me to this rapidly developed country. The one habit I am glad I brought was my affinity to finding and climbing rooftops in cities I have lived in and visit. The rooftop I am speaking of in particular was a rooftop I had discovered while walking around my small city of Gongju. Since discovering this rooftop, I have gone up at least 4 times a week to either read a book, enjoy a quick meal, write some poetry, bring a friend, or simply get the freshest air this city has to offer.
I remember this feeling of zooming out of my own existence when the much needed realization of change took the world weeks ago. I experienced this epiphany in a discord call talking with a group of diverse and polarizing thinkers, I am fortunate enough to call great friends, from all corners of the world. The realization that we were truly right in the middle of a very historical moment was jarring that sober night. A long due moment in history that is destined to change the course of our civilization for the nth time and this time, as rare as it may be for our brief human history, for a much more positive and peaceful advancement in our society. I remember following the very simple epiphany with a quick statement in the discord call that our unborn kids will be reading about this time in their textbooks a decade from now.
I’m only going to tell you this an infinite amount of times
So, I have never written a piece up like this in my life but I was compelled by an ad on Instagram as I am sure some of you reading have. I immediately thought of this girl that I had met weeks before South Korea went into lockdown. This girl was weird and filled with such creative energy and the most unexpected part about her was how much of her I felt connected to on a level I had yet to experience. I have fallen in and out of love barely a handful of times and never has a love felt like this.
