I thought it would be fun when I asked. A spooky tradition for a dorky wedding. They were my closest friends, so they laughed with me and my fiancé- my husband, well Halloween has always been his favorite holiday. It should have been fun. Everyone we loved was in one place for one day.

The Neighbors
Lar is the Portuguese word for home. Where I am flying was my lar, but now it is their casa. House. A man. A woman. A girl. Familia. One day, if they stay long enough, if they bring joy into their house, if they share meals together, if they cry and laugh and shout, maybe then it will become their lar. Maybe then, the loss my heart felt will meet its equal in what their hearts have gained.

“They say dreaming is free, but I wouldn’t care what it cost me.” - 26, Paramore Far too many times in my life I have made the easy, safe choice. I’ve been trying recently to chase after what I want with both hands. So far, I think I’ve only managed halfway. Sometimes I wonder why so many well-off people seem so miserable and I’m beginning to believe it is because we have too much to lose to put everything we have into something we don’t.
