There Are Many Ways a Heart is Broken
My love, my husband has had many mini strokes and TIA’s. All in the same area of his brain and thankfully he has survived them so that I can still talk to him, aggravate him, laugh with him, go places with him, live life with him. The downside of those strokes is when I realize what it has taken from him, from us and when those times pop up my heart breaks and I go through a period of mourning for what was lost. But I have learned to move forward while mending those little cracks that happen.

Ways to Plan a Merry Christmas
This year has been a hard one for our family. Thankfully, we are at the end of the year in a much better situation than we were at the first of the year. But because of this year, with its Jumanji like rollercoaster, got me to thinking about how to handle the holidays.

Dementia or ADHD
You can’t remember the word for, what is it? You bake with it, use it to scrape out the bowl. Damn, the mixing bowl is dirty, got to wash that. Do I have enough eggs? What was I looking for again? The thingie, the, oh hell who is texting now? 30 min later, the word ‘spatula’ pops in your head. You’ve noticed that regular words, everyday words, names you should know escape you. You are more forgetful about errands. You get sidetracked more easily than normal. You are also over the age of 50. Secretly you begin to worry if you are seeing early signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s. Or, are you one of many adults that are dealing with ADHD? What are your chances that you will be diagnosed with ADHD? Not very good and this is why.
