Fasting, Mitochondrial Biogenesis, and Quantum Biology
Quantum biology and mitochondrial biogenesis have always fascinated me. In late 2020, I became particularly interested in how they relate to fasting, one of the disciplines that soon made a significant difference in my life. Quantum biology, an emerging field of science, is when applications of quantum mechanics and theoretical chemistry are applied to aspects of biology. Scientists seek to understand fundamental quantum interactions like this, which determine the properties of the next level of organization in biological systems. Reading about quantum biology and applying certain principles allowed me to vastly transform my physical and mental health while in prison.
My Transformative Prison Mindset
I was sentenced to a potential 97 months in prison for a conviction that was, thankfully, later overturned. At the beginning, the length of my sentence was enough to make me lose hope. Giving up and becoming pessimistic seemed a likely outcome. In the end, however, an opposite effect occurred.
What Life Behind Bars Taught Me About Life and Leadership
There was a time when, to an outsider, I might have appeared to have it all. All the trappings of success a man could desire, including a successful career and industry respect. Then I was sentenced to seven years in prison. I served 633 days before my convictions were vacated and I was released.
