Possessed to Believe
"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window". It was only a thirty second promo video of a haunted lake near our town. As I listened to it on repeat, I scrolled through the comments. There were a lot of people that seemed to confirm the occurrence. "It's true I've been camping there many times and most recently there has been strange movement in there. Maybe it's haunted!" "We STAN a haunted cabin!" Well that one wasn't really confirming it but I was sold. After reading all the comments I knew this would be a great birthday surprise for my partner Basil. I personally didn't believe in ghosts so it was just another camping trip to the lake. But for them, I knew, it would be like taking a kid to the playground. It was sweet watching the excitement in their eyes whenever there was "paranormal" to explore.
Food for the Seoul
Locals visiting a temple wearing their traditional hanboks. K-pop bands and their bright colored eccentric styles have become inspirational to it's American fans in the past few years. Although K-pop has been a thing for many years now it's popularity has been on a rise lately. That has peaked fan's interest in Korean culture as a whole. Korean dramas and their innocent-but-exhilarating hand holding, skin cares that inspire to start a routine, delicious snacks and foods (great for k-drama bingeing), and their intriguing language of course.
Planet for Change
Alone Dear Diary, It' been about 3 months, there still hasn't been any signs of life besides me. I still can't comprehend how I got stuck here. Everyone is dead and I'm here, alive, in a city I know nothing about. I've tried to remember the day it happened but it was all a flash. All I can remember is laying out in the sand, sun bathing. Never thought my honey moon would turn out like this. My family is most likely... gone. It hurts to even think about it but there's no point in being hopeful. Today I'm going to go looking for food, a lot of the grocery stores I've come across were mostly trashed. I haven't found any animals to hunt and most plants I've come across aren't edible or barely sprouting. Licorice is the only thing I've eaten in the past two days. If I have to eat another piece of this red rope... Okay, I should go.
Old Soul, New Soul, Familiar Soul
Bang bang BANG! “Where am I!? HELLO?! Anybody out there?” shuffles around. What the hell is this? A book, Samsara reached for it. Something felt familiar but it was hard to pinpoint what exactly it was. When they opened the book things fell on to their feet. In a confused manner Samsara dropped the book and ran their hands from the top of their chest down to their legs. The left hand got caught on something near the waist and with their thumb bumped a button which triggered a light. They flinched at the sight of it but slowly recognized the object. With it, the objects on the ground became recognizable. Samsara bent down to pick them up. Without hesitation they began reading the words on each object, Name: Samsara, age: 290, one hundred dollars. Simultaneously, Samsara picked up a pair of sunglasses, instinctively put them on their face and read “...estimated time of arrival: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2..” Light spilled into the room and a figure reached for their hand.
