Excision Presents' Thunderdome comes booming back to the Pacific North West
After a nearly 2 -year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, Excision Presents brought back a weekend of ground-rattling bass music to the Seattle area with the iconic "Thunderdome" event. While notably smaller than the producer's world-class festivals like Lost Lands and Bass Canyon, the two-night show did not fail to impress as the Excision team’s mind-blowing audio-visual production quite literally blew the night away! Crowds of headbangers from all over the US West and beyond gathered in the Tacoma Dome to let loose as renowned artists like Liquid Stranger, Kompany, Bear Grillz and Excision himself flooded the venue with rumbling bass and hard-hitting beats on February 4th and 5th.

How To Go To Music Festivals SoloTop Story - January 2022
Have you ever wanted to buy tickets to a music festival but found yourself with no one to go with? If you have, you’re far from alone. With tons of events coming back online this year (and more coming out each year), the chances of running into scheduling conflicts with friends is inevitable. It can feel intimidating to take on a festival or even a one night show on your own, especially when traveling out of town. Even so, there are tons of perks about choosing the solo adventure that make the experience worth it! (You can read my in-depth reflection on the benefits of solo adventuring in my previous article).

Solivagant: Wandering Alone (and how to start doing it)
Intro As I write this piece, I find that I’m both sharing a success story and also coaching myself to prepare for the future. As I look to the year ahead, I’m excited for all the possibilities that lie before me… for the first time since the pandemic began, I finally feel like I can actually allow myself to plan for things I’ve been too scared to get my hopes up for. Music festivals are back on schedule, travel is becoming a little easier, and with crossed fingers and just about every good luck-ritual I can muster up, I’m marking off dates on the calendar. That said, not all is as it was before.

Trance Tunes for Teleportation
How do you connect to music? Do you get fueled from the energy of a beat? Or maybe you turn to your favorite playlist to find solace and feel consoled if you're hurting...maybe it's an outlet for some pent-up rage, or maybe it's an uplifting force? The truth is, there's no such thing as a wrong answer...in fact, that's the beauty of music: It's the only art that can deliver it all at the same time.

Lasers at Dawn: As Good as TherapyTop Story - November 2021
You've probably heard a lot of different things about rave culture— eccentric people wearing wild outfits dancing in darkened rooms filled with booming bass, lasers, and ardent drug-fueled energy... as much as there is to be said about stereotypes in how the scene is depicted by mainstream culture, that's not the story I'm here to share today. I'm here to share the story of how the admittedly eccentric but often misrepresented scene made a lasting impact on my life journey.
