Real stories origins behind 5 Famous Disney Movies
the Disney Company is huge and their films are loved by billions of people around the world but you may not know that some of their most famous titles have been based on real events and unusual stories while here are five Disney films that may surprise you with their origins some of which would not have made for appropriate children's movies if they hadn't have been changed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs when the 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released it was a huge hit and was the first of now many princesses for Disney we are all familiar with the story it's about Snow White living with her jealous stepmother who orders her Huntsman to kill the princess but unable to face killing Snow White he lets her free in the forest where she lives with the Seven Dwarfs when the Evil Queen finds out the Snow White is still alive she possesses an old hag to give Snow White a poisoned Apple when she takes a bite she's thought to have died and lays motionless until a prince finds her and kisses her bringing snow-white back to life and they live happily ever after it's a lovely story but the original has an alternative pretty gory ending the original Snow White story was written by the Brothers Grimm in 1812 and was first published in German it shares pretty much all the similarities to the Disney film except for when Snow White is poisoned by the Apple the prince does not kiss her and bring her back to life he takes the casket she is lying in trips over a branch in the forest dropping Snow White and causing the poisoned Apple to dislodge from her throat and she comes back to life now here's where it gets dark they then arrange a huge wedding inviting every king and queen in the land the Wicked Queen accepts the invitation not realizing it's a stepdaughters wedding and when she arrives she's made to wear a pair of shoes that are glowing red hot and is forced to dance until she drops dead this was a punishment for trying to kill Snow White is pretty disturbing since it's supposed to be a children's story and you can see why they didn't include that part in the film pocahontas this Disney film was perhaps one of the most controversial of the Disney Princess films mainly because it was based on a true story but was changed so much that many believe it took historical liberties with his portrayal of Pocahontas straying too far from the facts to make it into a children's film in the film Pocahontas is a young American Indian woman whose father is a powerful Indian chief he wants her to marry a native warrior but she falls for a British captain and her father disapproves things are made worse when the British captain's fellow Englishmen try to rob the native americans of their gold but this is very different to the true story of Pocahontas the daughter of a poet in chief she was born in around 1595 and her birth name was Mitaka Pocahontas later came as a nickname given to her which means spoiled or naughty child Pocahontas was part of a tribe located in Tidewater Virginia and her childhood would have seen the English arriving in search of the new world which resulted in many clashes between the English and the native Indians during this time captain Smith an English soldier and Explorer was captured by Pocahontas his tribe and faced execution this was when the then ten-year-old Mitaka threw herself at Captain Smith to stop him being executed now it's unlikely there was any romance between the two like in the film but young Mitaka was later captured by English settlers and this is when she met a tobacco planter John Rolfe in order to secure her release she agreed to marry him and was renamed Rebecca this was also the first recorded marriage in history between a European man and a Native American woman after two years of marriage John Rolfe Amata akka went to England with Rolfe used his wife as a symbol of peace and goodwill between the English and Native Americans his thoughts that whilst in England Mitaka ran into John Smith the captain she saved from being executed but she refused to speak and turned her back on him unfortunately for Pocahontas was returning by ship back to Virginia she became ill and was taken off the ship a Gravesend England where she sadly died at the age of 21 there was a lot of suspicion that her death was caused by poisoning but this has never been confirmed it's just crazy to think that when watching the film that it's loosely based on real storica events in the 2010 Disney film tangled a story as told about a baby princess named Rapunzel who has magical healing powers she's stolen from her crib by Mother Gothel and taken to a hidden tower where her golden magical hair grows incredibly long as she gets older Rapunzel becomes curious about the outside world especially the bright light she sees every year floating in the sky beyond her tower prison and she plots with a local thief to escape the tower and go on an adventure discovering that the lights in the sky are lanterns that a parent's release every year on Rapunzel's birthday she then falls in love with the thief after bringing him back to life with her powers and they eventually marry and live happily ever after as the film version of the original which is called rapunzel Rapunzel starts with the lonely couple who lived next to an evil witch named dame gothel the neighbor who is pregnant sees a Rapunzel plant in the witch's garden and asks her husband to steal it for her to eat she enjoys it so much that she asks him to steal some more but this time he's caught by dame gothel he begs for his life and the evil witch agrees to let him go on the condition that he hands over their baby as soon as it's born the which takes the newborn baby calls her Rapunzel and raises her as her own Rapunzel grows up to have long golden hair and when she reaches the age of 12 Dame Gothel locks her in a secret tower Rapunzel's hair grows so long that when the witch visits her she shouts up for her to let her hair down Rapunzel would then drop her hair down from the tower and that Dame Gothel climb up to a room then one day a prince he is Rapunzel singing in a tower and they eventually meet and fall in love they both plan her escape so that he can marry but Dame Gothel notices something is not right so she watches the tower and finds out about the princes visits in a rage she cuts off Rapunzel's hair and slings her into the woods to fend for herself she then uses the cut hair to trick the Prince into thinking he's climbing up to see Rapunzel but when he reaches the top and his told rapunzel is gone he jumps from the tower in an attempt to kill himself he survives but thorns PS his eyes leaving him blind for months he wanders aimlessly in the forest until one day he hears Rapunzel singing and is reunited with her and she restores his sight as for Dame Gothel in a fit of anger she is drop the lengths of hair and his forever trapped in the tower to die so although the original has a good storyline it's far different from the movie version and wouldn't have really made for a good children's movie considered by many to be the greatest Disney film ever made the 1940 film Pinocchio is told through the eyes of Jiminy Cricket he tells how woodcarver Geppetto makes a wooden puppet called Pinocchio and how he wishes it was a real boy then one night he sees a shooting star and the next morning Pinocchio has come to life one day when walking to school Pinocchio is persuaded to join a traveling show where he performs with other puppets and when he tries to return home to Geppetto he is locked up by the owner of the traveling show he is rescued by a magical fairy but when he starts lying about what he's been up to his nose starts to grow eventually Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket returned home but discovered Geppetto has gone to sea in search of him and has been swallowed by whale Pinocchio sets out to free Geppetto from the whales belly but drowns trying to save him because he has proved himself to be good though he is brought back to life by the fairy and his puppet strings are removed finally making him a real boy the film is a classic for the original Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi which the film is based on tells a much darker story it was originally published as a weekly series in a comic type newspaper for children Carlo often describes Pinocchio as a wretched and thoroughly disobedient boy who laughs in the face and steals the wig of his creator and father Geppetto in these stories Jiminy Cricket is not the wise guide friend of Pinocchio but the opposite and when he tries to tell Pinocchio off for a balun against his father Pinocchio bashes the insects head in with a hammer and kills him Pinocchio is often starved tortured robbed and kidnapped and as his wooden legs burned off nearly every chapter of the book indicates the author's contempt for body behaved children with Pinocchio being made an example of what happens to disobedient kids Carlo did not own the story to have a happy ending at all and wanted to end Pinocchio's life by hanging him but publishers were horrified by this ending and he was forced to bring Pinocchio back to life this is when he introduces a child with blue hair the character that becomes the magical fairy in the Disney film but even after being brought back the writer continued to endure torture and abuse upon Pinocchio in the stories which thankfully was never shown in the film Winnie the Pooh is a lovable teddy bear who was created by English author AML and adapted by Disney into a series of short features that included Winnie the Pooh's friends piglet or kanga rabbit Roo Tigger owl and the only human character Christopher Robin Winnie and his friends enjoy several adventures in the Hundred Acre Woods but you may be surprised that some of them are actually based on true characters in 1925 a a male based Winnie the Pooh on a soldier's bear who was sent to London Zoo when the soldier was shipped off to the frontlines in France Christopher Robin Milne a a Milnes son was a visitor to the zoo and loved the female bear he named his teddy bear Winnie the Pooh and this created the inspiration for his dad to create the yellow bear we all know of today so Winnie the Pooh was based on the bear and Christopher Robin was based on a a Milnes son Christopher Robin Milne but behind the laughter and fun we the Pooh and his friends are thought to have a deeper meaning to their characters now this was never confirmed by the creator but is a widely believed theory by many and when you hear it it definitely makes you wonder it's thought the characters also traits of mental disorders and here are the psychological profiles of them.we the Pooh is thought to suffer from a range of mental disorders his careless and dreamy nature and disregard towards rules point to a form of inattentive attention defect hyperactivity disorder also his obsession with honey and willingness to risk everything to get it indicates to some he is suffering from impulsivity with obsessive fixations piglet is thought to suffer from generalized anxiety disorder his general nervousness and low self-esteem contributed to his stuttering speech and the irrational anxiety he displays the owl seems to be dyslexic as he spells things jumbled and in the wrong way Tigger is unable to control his constant bouncing and as an extremely impulsive nature despite this the others are drawn to him as he is very sociable but by association they risk getting themselves in trouble due to his behaviors some say this is a classic sign of ADHD some say kanga show signs of social anxiety disorder she's an overprotective super-organized mother and is obsessed with a controlling little rule preventing him from making his own decisions kanga also tries to mother Tigger in much the same way feeding him and looking after him although she is unable to control him the rabbit who was over organized and obsessed with having everything in the right place has led people to believe that he is suffering from OCD he or the downcast donkey who has a negative spin on everything seems incapable of getting any joy out of life and is definitely suffering from some kind of depression and finally Christopher Robin with his wild imagination and stuffed toys as best friends is thought to have created all the characters in his own head and they represent all the feelings he is actually experiencing some believe Christopher is suffering from schizophrenia but this wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened in a children's movie Alice in Wonderland has long been linked to a person experiencing a drug trip with many thought to be drug references throughout although this like Winnie the Pooh has never been confirmed by the crater that this was their intentions so maybe it's just people being silly and looking into things too much or maybe it was a a Milnes intention to add more character to the stories whatever you think don't let any of this take away from these incredible Disney films I hope you've enjoyed the video and I'll see you next week for another one [Music] you

Fan Committed A Murder
[Music] it's 3 A.M in South Korea May 27th of 2023 so literally like a month ago a taxi driver pulls over to pick up a young girl in her suitcase he pops open the trunk he even offers to help her put it into the trunk but she's like no I'm good don't worry it's not a big deal I can do it by myself she puts it in the trunk closes it slides into the back seat and he glances at her in his rearview mirror it's kind of late to be going on vacation and on top of that her destination isn't even to an airport or a bus terminal or anything like that it's to the local park near the river but who is he to judge what time was it 3 A.M oh yeah I mean he was just thankful that it was a pleasant polite nice young lady rather than a drunk businessman which is typically the clientele at 3am he drives quietly to the park she directs him where to stop the car and she pays him she slides out of the back seat and hauls her own suitcase out of the back of the trunk again it looks really heavy really really heavy she said no don't worry about it sir I can do it myself I mean the physical strength of the youth never cease to amaze this Taxi Driver they say their goodbyes and he watches with a little bit of curiosity as she practically skips into the park towards the grassy field what a strange strange girl she looked like what a middle schooler a high schooler at most she looked really young I mean what is she even doing alone at this hour and where is she going with the suitcase in the park he decides to take a smoke break right then and there he honestly thought that she probably would need a ride back I mean no taxi was going to stop in the middle of the park for her to get onto the taxi it's near the river at 3am I think nothing good can happen to a young girl roaming around looking for a right at this time so he's smoking it up and he looks up it's about what 15-20 minutes and There She is again and he's just watching her as she walks out of the park towards him and her suitcase looks very light all of a sudden you know earlier it was dragging on the wheels it was kind of forcing her body to lean a little bit forward to pull it and now now it's practical flying around as she's moving it about the girl asked him for a ride back the whole energy seems strange it seemed like she didn't even notice that it was the same taxi driver and he kept glancing at her in the rear view mirrors he drove her to her destination something in his gut told him this isn't right like something feels wrong I mean the whole I mean where would she have gone with that suitcase and why would it be lighter coming out of the park nobody just throws away their clothes in the park she might be a middle schooler but there is this energy about her he would alert the Police and they found that she had been transporting a victim's dismembered body from the victim's own apartment to that very Park the taxi driver had unknowingly transported human remains dismembered human remains in the trunk of his car he had sat in the car with a young baby-faced killer not once but twice wait wait he called the police just because how suspicious it was they searched the grassy field in the park wow this case has recently gone viral in Korea for a number of reasons I mean just the brazenness of the crime the CCTV footage of the killer looking like a happy person I'm gonna show this to you she's just skipping around with this membered remains in her suitcase certainly she's got a cute little Bob and it's almost bouncing about people say it's so unsettling because she has this child alike mannerism to her this energy tour there's dismembered remains in the suitcase but also the fact that the killer was stated to have an unhealthy fascination with serial killers and an obsession with true crime documentaries she killed dismembered and disposed of a victim because she quote just wanted to see what it feels like to kill foreign [Music] as always full show notes are available at rottenmingopodcast.com but this is a developing case and as always this is the information that we have as of now things could change they could get worse I don't know if we'll get too much information considering the privacy laws in South Korea also as per South Korean laws the victim of this case and her family have chosen to stay Anonymous so throughout this case we will refer to her with the Alias of Hannah and with all foreign cases we had our Korean researchers work on this case to get as much as of what we could that's out there and compile it in this video for you guys so let's get into it the victim Hannah was a young woman in her 20s she was tutoring high schoolers in English I would not say tutoring is an easy job in South Korea it it's a very serious job parents are picky over involved very diligent in picking the absolute perfect tutor for their perfect children whom they believe are entitled to be the next Einsteins so it's a difficult job but Hannah liked it she was a university student at a prestigious school it worked well with her schedule and it made it easier for her to get a tutoring position to begin with and she liked being able to help these great schoolers get interested in English she made the whole process fun for them and just wanted to be like a cool tutor that was her genuine Vibe that's her goal so in 2023 with all of the available apps out there there is a platform for tutors tutors will sign up and they will be verified by the platform for having the specific credentials they will verify with the school that they're a student they will verify their transcripts grades everything to make sure that these tutors that are online are being advertised their background checks it's basically a tutor securing app that parents are obsessed with parents will go on there and they will look for tutors in every single subject for their elementary middle school and high school kids the demand for English tutors was actually pretty high and the pay was fairly good so Hannah had a lot of parents messaging her inquiring about her services including the mom of a middle school student who was um this mom was very adamant about hiring Hannah originally Hannah declined this Mother's offer because her house was so far away from Hannah's I mean she naturally wanted something closer because why commute if you don't have to so she said thank you so much like I'm sure that your middle schooler will find a great tutor but it's just too far for me this mom really seemed to like Hannah though she even offered to send her daughter to Hannah's house drop her off for these English sessions Hannah kind of felt bad I mean the mom seemed really desperate for her daughter to have an English tutor maybe she had an exam coming up maybe she was the only tutor that seemed to fit the mom's profile it was strange but she found it hard to say no besides she she really did like tutoring she really did like helping students May 26th of 2023 Friday right around dinner time so right around 6 PM Hannah slowly gets her house ready because this is the first day that this student is going to come over and they're going to tutor in English together so she's cleaning up wiping the table down and she hears a knock on the door she peers through the little camera and she sees a preteen student a middle schooler kind of short bob haircut that's curled outwards like how middle schoolers do it it kind of stopped at her chin her glasses would make her cheeks look even rounder and in many situations I think most people would look at this face and think oh like what a cute middle schooler she's got like cute little cheeks and she's standing there wearing her school uniform so Hannah opens the door and she's ready to start tutoring there would have been no way for Hannah to have known that this little middle schooler that she had just let into her home was not actually a middle schooler was her name she was not a middle schooler yujang was not 12 or 13 or even 14 or 15 years old but rather 23 years old she could have potentially been older than Hannah we don't know the victim's precise age the Middle School uniform that she was wearing was purchased at a thrift store and underneath it she was hiding a knife within minutes of entering yujung established that Hannah lived alone she pulled out her knife and viciously stabbed Hannah she repeatedly stabbed Hannah in the neck only on like a particular spot slash side that's what a lot of the reports said which would later indicate to a lot of psychiatrists that she had researched where to stab she knew what she was doing she also stabbed the same area on the neck over 20 times once the 23 year old pretending to be a middle schooler finished killing the victim she relished in the satisfaction of a job well done she would spend the greater part of the evening at Hannah's apartment possibly pretending as if this was her own apartment even changing into the jacket that Hannah wore she took a jacket out of Hannah's closet and wore it the rest of the night the jacket that you see on CCTV camera is Hannah's jacket CCTV cameras would catch this 23 year old yujung going in and out of Hannah's apartment going back and forth from her own place hauling cleanup tools and other times she would bring a suitcase which indicates that while everyone believes that this is a premeditated murder she was underprepared but more shocking than that was that she was caught on CCTV looking very relaxed she's taken taxis to and from Hannah's place to her place to the store to buy supplies she's bringing around giant suitcases from her house to Hannah's house she's going to a local store buying bleach knives trash bags that's crazy to me because Korea you're saying there's camera every corner Korea is like the city I'm sure it's similar in China and maybe Japan like the city of CCTV what I don't understand either yeah we're gonna go down kind of a few conspiracy routes later but it gets weird she brings the suitcase and all these supplies back to Hannah's and she gets to dismembering the victim she spends the rest of the night and into the early hours of the morning doing this she then stuffs unspecified parts of the victim's body into a suitcase and hauls a cab and again just seeing her with that suitcase out in the streets just the way that she's walking is so nonchalant she's almost practically skipping people say she almost has this childlike demeanor meaning that if we were to bump into her in the street we would probably think oh my God I just bumped into like a little high school or oopsie sorry like oh she looks cute and innocent she very much had a girl next door sweet innocent appearance that had viewers and netizens absolutely floored when they found out what was in that suitcase around 3 pm she puts the luggage into the trunk of a taxi directs the driver to drop her off near a wooded area near hopo station this is near like the nakton river and reportedly the killer yujung she loved going on walks in this park this was her favorite spot she gets dropped off by the taxi driver walks into the grassy area and starts scattering the remains of Hannah solar University forensic Professor would say that even the grassy location by the knockdong river could have been planned the tall grass by the water it holds a lot of insects and disinfectants like um I'm assuming it's like pesticides that would accelerate the decomposition of the body parts within a week so if she had not been caught by then there's a high chance the body would have been hard to recognize or even how to ID the body Professor Yu is quite certain that she knew about all of this which is why she chose to go this far with the body and even get in a taxi to scatter The Remains at this park perhaps her frequent walks around this park made her familiar with the area it made her want to leave a body here now it's all going according to 23 year old yudong's plan except the taxi driver she believed the taxi driver would not be able to tell the difference between a girl traveling with luggage for vacation at 3am versus a girl traveling with luggage full of body parts the taxi driver would call the police and it was very quickly traced back to yujung in a show called we want to know in Korea it was revealed that another bystander actually saw yujung throw away this huge trash bag of bloody blankets bloody leggings before she walked away with her rolling suitcase foreign again just five hours later she was arrested wow that was fast yeah now side note there was a rumor circulating that the taxi driver had gotten out to help yujung unload her luggage from the trunk and as he was trying to help her he had touched the luggage and felt that it was wet upon impact the rumor was that he got back into the taxi and you know how like the car lights turn on when you open the door yeah and he briefly glanced at his palms and they were dripping with blood that is a rumor from what I can tell someone anonymously came out and said that they were a colleague of the taxi driver and that didn't happen he just noticed that the weight difference and where she was going and all these suspicious things added up for him to call the police he did not see blood he did not feel blood you know like for him to call the police he must have some kind of like that gut feeling that you're like I know I'm not gonna be able to sleep at night and it must have been so strong and that must be really really bad I wonder if he's actually thinking oh my God is this a body yes I did see a lot of netizens say the fact that um it speculated it was a male Taxi Driver the fact that a male taxi driver that has probably seen so much in South Korea so many bizarre things at 3am 4 P.M 5 a.m you know any time of the day but this little girl with luggage unsettled him so much because I think it's one thing if a girl is driving and there's like a creepy man with luggage we're already on guard there's always this feeling of like I always think something is wrong but for him to be this upset and unsettled by what looks to be a middle school girl it must have been bad there must have been some sort of and I hate to say it like some sort of energy that she was giving off like some sort of weirdness that was happening so the police rushed to the field where they find the scattered remains and with the help of the taxi driver describing what she looked like approximately where he picked her up and where he dropped her off she was quickly located and arrested authorities asked her why would you do this how could you do this who did you do this to because at this point they did not have an idea of the victim now upon arrest yujung seemed very calm and collected she was young just 23 years old but when the police were questioning her she didn't seem that alarmed she just very calmly explained well the dismembered remains that you saw if you must know they were my baby I delivered a baby at home and I killed it because I don't want to be a mom obviously I'm young I was going through a psychotic break and I killed the baby and Scattered the remains I'm not sure how she thought that she could get away with a lie like that because very easily you could pick up some of the remains I'm sure that there are medical examiners that can give you like a brief hey that's not a baby's bone I'm also not sure how she had so much confidence even though this is so easily medically debunkable I mean her body doesn't even have evidence that she was even pregnant so after arresting her the authorities also found Hannah's ID nearby this was left near the remains along with some bloody clothes and other body parts so now they know who the victim is they go back to Hannah's apartment they find more evidence of the crime and they tell you John like that's not your baby we know it's not your baby give us the real truth that's when she starts complaining of stomach pain she's like oh my stomach hurts I oh my God I'm gonna die because she's in police custody see this is where the police are better than me because if you've committed like a blatant murder and you're telling me that your stomach hurts you never told me that you and your stomach can hurt for the rest of the interrogation you're not gonna die okay why should I care about you when you don't care about human life but because she's under police responsibility they rush her to the hospital and surprise surprise she's lying there's nothing wrong with her so after the hospital debacle the police bring her back into the interrogation room and they ask her about the events of the previous night the police also take her phone and they start searching through it and you know they just have so many questions did you know the victim did you target this victim why would you do this how long have you been planning this are there other victims are you working with someone she clearly was not being the most honest person so the police they start going through her phone and we're gonna come back to all of her lies but let's go through the phone first the police check her phone hoping to get some answers they found a colorful search history where she had searched online for tips on how to hide a corpse she also had watched a ton of true crime documentaries allegedly feeding off on um it said that she just really wanted to know what it felt like to kill yeah we're gonna get back to it but something the police rarely see was that her phone was empty just like everything not like she had wiped her phone and deleted everything but digital forensics revealed that tongue her phone she was not in contact with a single person she had no contacts in her cell phone which I know some people don't save contacts but she had no messages no calls coming in or out none nothing no friends no family no social media interactions no one was contacting her in this day and age of 2023 how nearly impossible is that she was truly almost like a ghost was born in 1999 very young she um like a lot of people was born into a pretty volatile house her parents were always busy working they were too busy to take care of her she was sent off to live with her grandfather and he was the exclusive Soul Guardian throughout her entire childhood which I think is interesting so in a lot of cultures and Korean culture as well it's common for grandparents to move in and raise the grandchildren while the parents are busy working but her grandfather was listed as her sole Guardian so I mean that to me indicates whether her parents were divorced or they were not present at all in her life if it was to the extent of negligence or abandonment I'm not sure but the fact that her grandfather was listed as her sole Guardian I think something must have happened with her parents I'm sure it probably impacted her in some way to not have her parents around to not having this loving Dynamic that a lot of kids have but I mean it's been proven time and time again that a child's first example of a relationship is with the parent so we don't know it's just something to consider ultimately we have no idea what happened if anything but we know that it wasn't the most stable home regardless growing up yudong was regarded as a very specific word that I've never really heard in cases invisible not just quiet not just shy not just introverted but invisible her former classmate said if you said hi to yujung in the hallway like if you waved her in the hallway she would never say anything back she wouldn't even smile back she wouldn't nod in acknowledgment she wouldn't even way back she would basically just ignore your existence they said that yujung never spoke or replied to any of her classmates so if you were a classmate and you were asking her a question and she knows you're asking her a question the room assignment and you go hey you dung can you pass me that she wouldn't even look at you she would not respond to you if it was an elder like a teacher authority figure or even a neighbor if they asked her a question she would avoid eye contact and answer just yes or no outside of school yujung never even left her home neighbors reported almost never seeing her out walking around hanging out with friends going on walks with her Grandpa inviting friends over nothing [Music] anytime so listen to English it's stated and this is kind of random and super specific but yujung hated talking to people but if she were at the convenience store and she was owed like a penny back in change most Koreans stated that they just wouldn't ask for the change they'd be like oh keep the change because they don't want to walk around with this Penny they don't know exactly what to do with this Penny it's just kind of a hassle yujang the person who hates talking would ask for that penny back no matter what that was like the one time she was very vocal she was like give me my penny back which is fine it's she's entitled to it but people just thought it was kind of interesting to note contrary to a lot of speculation former classmates also stated yujung was absolutely never bullied so as far as we know nobody picked on her nobody forced her to retreat into her shell and go unnoticed nobody verbally physically hit her nobody bothered her because she wouldn't even wave back at you it's like she would just float through her childhood like a ghost this seems to be like a choice that she made for whatever reason she would be so good at being unnoticeable that she could walk into a room and no one would look up or even hear anything her presence was unknown she was unseen she was unremarkable in almost every way we have no idea if she desperately desired to talk or to say something or wanted someone to listen to her as if um she was invisible and she didn't want to be she just couldn't she couldn't stop maybe her brain blocked that part of her life or blocked that part of her socialization I don't know or on the flip side You could argue that this was a choice she didn't like people this was her own little Rebellion to not talk to people she was deliberately ignoring them but she did kind of unsettle her former classmates so they never bothered to get to know her but they reported that she would sit behind curtains alone so like imagine there's a curtain she would just sit behind it just like hiding herself but not really hiding herself because you would see that there's a human behind the curtain and then you would look at the shoes and then you'd be like why is yujung behind the curtain sometimes you would hear crunching noises from behind the curtain and she would just be behind the curtain eating snacks foreign [Music] was interviewed about this case and as an expert in teen psychology and behavior they stated that she was very she had unusual behavior for a teenager they said that adolescent ages are a time of pure curiosity of your peers you want to know what your peers have to think have to say about everything how they dress you want to get to know everyone your age you have this like innate desire to understand them because you want to be part of your peers this is not like anything we've heard yeah this one's very weird and it's gonna get weirder so far it's weird but it gets weirder the professor stated that if they were to evaluate this type of behavior they would categorize it as Psychopathic Tendencies and or behavior that is being displayed at an early age so yujung puts in as much effort into her schoolwork as she does getting to know her classmates another thing that stood out to former classmates is that yujung was never angry she was never upset she was never depressed she never had this like passion against everyone like oh I don't want to talk to any of you guys because uh you don't understand me I stand out I'm Different she never had that she just seemed so utterly neutral about everything so incredibly passively indifferent and in hindsight a lot of people said that might be scarier but she still managed to graduate in 2018 from the kyungi girls high school she had no clue what she wanted to do with the rest of her life which you know is very normal but she also had zero intention of trying to explore things and figure it out after she graduates high school yujung had no social outlet she had nothing on her schedule that would force her to interact with people with teachers like high school did like she doesn't have college she has become totally disconnected from society the day she graduates high school she would stay in her room all day no connection with anyone she would tell her grandfather that she was holed up in her room studying for the public government official exam but it is clear yujung used this as a delay tactic an excuse to have in her back pocket if her grandfather ever noticed that she has no social life that she's not getting a job that she has no plans for her future she would just milk the crap out of studying for this exam for the next five years every day it was oh you know Grandpa I'm studying for the entrance exam she was receiving financial support from her grandfather while she studied he expected that she would pass and afterwards she would find a job and she would get paid and hopefully pay him back for all the hard work that he's done because he's a grandfather now and I'm sure that there were even moments that the grandfather was proud of her because she never spent time hanging out with friends or just doing nothing she was always studying she seemed so dedicated to her studies now if you think that he's in on it or gullible or that he should have known it's a different generation he didn't even know that you needed to have a college level Proficiency in English to even qualify to take the exam which yujung was clearly not proficient in English and that's that's kind of something that is pretty easy to tell and it might be why she chose her victim now we're going to circle back to that in 2017 yujung applied multiple times for a job as a golf caddy she submitted her resume and wrote after leaving High School I started preparing for the college entrance exam I enjoy being active and meeting other people and I really want to try this role thank you but once she got a call for an interview she did not say a single word even when the interviewer asked her standard interview questions it was silence on the other line silence she refused to talk the recruiter was so confused because she's like you apply for the job why won't you talk because you applied for the job it didn't look good in the recruiter's eyes and of course she didn't get the job but when she found out that she was rejected from the position she went as far as to call them back and curse them out for their decision she kept demanding to know why why was I rejected and they didn't really want to tell her because well you were strange you didn't respond to any of the questions we thought you were a little weird they didn't want to say that so they just said oh well we're looking for an English speaker and you're not proficient in English it is speculated that yujung started developing a hatred for those who were good at English and maybe this is why she ended up online searching for English tutors to murder wow her victim Hannah was a young successful accomplished University student at a prestigious school who was also an English tutor she was everything that you done was not and that may have been why she was targeted now let's talk about her True Crime Obsession but first why was she even obsessed because of the lack of any contact on yujung's phone after she was taken in by the police the word hikiko Mori has been coming up in discussions about her case and quick disclaimer I don't think that yujung was but there is a connection we've talked about this previously on the Japanese serial killer cases that we've covered but since it's been like over a year let me give you a refresh in Japanese culture there is a phenomenon right now where adolescents and young adults have become very reclusive usually after graduating high school and into their adult lives they will live in basically voluntary solitary confinement usually in their parents home some of them will go years without even talking or running into their own family members that they live with in the same apartment not massive white house with a west wing and an East Wing I'm talking a three-bedroom apartment many of them stated they will coordinate their comings and goings out of their room to not run into a single human being sometimes these people will also go decades without seeing anyone outside of their immediate family members no according to the Japanese Ministry of Health labor and Welfare beside note there is no good translation of hikikomori but the Japanese government has defined it as the state of avoiding social engagement education employment and friendships with generally persistent withdrawal into one's residence for at least six months as a result of various factors so while it's pretty difficult to get exact numbers estimates say that there are at least over 1 million hikikomori in Japan alone probably close to a million in South Korea and potentially millions in China and it's become such a problem for Japan and really everywhere else but the Japanese government even released a guide for the hikikomori on what to do in the event that their parent passes away afford them yeah because there was a case where a hikoko Mori his mom had passed away in the house and he did not report her body or do anything so I was looking through a Reddit Forum to understand the mindset of the community and I don't think that yujung is one of them and I want to clarify that hikiko Mori are not dangerous people yujung is not one of them I mean she could go out she liked to take her little walks in the park the only same consistency that they have is that they had no social interactions with people there is a redditor who wrote If something forced me to go outside like a sudden fire inside my house I would be unable to step outside into the world another redditor said see it sneaks up on you you think it's okay for a month and then you do it for six months and you think it's not that bad then you do it for a year and then two years and then you realize that all of your peers are light years ahead of you economically socially mentally you feel like there's no way you can even try to catch up now so what's the point it's been known to psychologists that the more one doesn't socialize the less they know how it's something that you can technically forget it's like talking you have to learn to talk again and it's this vicious cycle of not socializing for even longer because you forget how to do it and then repeat and repeat it's happening in Japan China South Korea the United States some behavioral scientists have credited this Retreat from society to the overwhelming pressure of succeeding in Asia's work culture After High School so in China some people actually attribute it also to the fact that the population has profoundly more men than women saying that this puts so much pressure on men looking for partners whereas women can be a lot more selective so these men decide I don't even want to partake in this game that Society plays I want to completely withdraw so why is this happening all of a sudden in this day and age because of Technology so back then there were hikikomori in Japan and most of them would Read Manga they would watch like DVDs and stuff but now with the internet people feel like they really don't have to go outside everything can be done online they can watch shows they can watch YouTube videos they can talk to people anonymously without the threat of feeling exposed or vulnerable they can go to Safe forums that they can communicate with they can do everything online especially in places like South Korea Japan and China where everything can be delivered at your fingertips in record time it's so easy to never leave I mean it's gotten so bad there's actually Services where you can hire young pretty women and typically they're hired by parents of hikikomori and they'll come and try to talk to the predominantly male Community like they'll come and talk to your son and try to lure him out of his room it's estimated that this phenomenon is affecting millions of people around the world and it's honestly very heartbreaking it's just it's very lonely existence I imagine and again I don't think that you don't can be fully categorized as hikikomori but regardless she probably felt the effects of the lack of social connection and almost complete social isolation which risk of that is mental health issues like depression anxiety substance abuse you can even get chronic conditions like high blood pressure heart disease diabetes higher risk of dementia because you're not socializing and again just another disclaimer like most mental illnesses the hikikomori lifestyle I mean this is typically only detrimental to the person themselves and maybe perhaps their family members who have to interact with them and try to provide for them and help them but most of the time they are just non-violent introverted modern day Hermits there were a lot of hikomori that were interviewed and they said you know it didn't matter because it just started like one or two days I would just stay in my room and be on the internet and I thought this is nice I like it and then it was a month and then they were thinking this isn't too bad and then six months crept in a year crept in two years crept in and then a lot of them report feeling like it was too late like they had already ruined their life they felt like I already spent the most formative years the most important years of my career there's no way I can get a job in the competitive Asian work economy like people just out of college of prestigious colleges they can't even get a job I've been doing nothing for the past five years how am I gonna get a job a lot of them report deteriorating Health a lot of weight gain and you know when you're in your room and eating coupler man all the time and just staring at your computer a lot of them report having um a lot of acne and that would just prevent them from going out even more they felt awkward around people they felt like everyone was staring at them weirdly they just felt like they didn't fit in and the longer it went on the harder it was to reintegrate back into society and so most of them just thought I'm just gonna stay with my computer that's it that's what I'm gonna do and yujung was kind of like that in the sense that she was obsessed with her computer with her electronics and she was primarily obsessed with consuming true crime documentaries now I know that most of you guys that are listening to this episode because you have an interest in current events and or True Crime itself now I can't speak for you guys but that's how I started I would watch a true crime documentary and I had nobody to talk about it with and I just wanted to talk to someone about what I had seen what it made me feel how it made me think about the world how it made me think about the justice system and I wanted to share these like thoughts and stories with someone but I think I think like if I really look back on why I started watching these documentaries years and years ago it kind of made me feel like I knew what was out there because like it makes me feel like I know what kind of evil is lurking in the shadows I know what kind of people scary people are out there so maybe I can prepare myself and understand some of the warning signs so it made me feel like I was being proactive in my safety it felt like it was safer to know than not knowing what kind of evil existed and it eased a little bit of my anxiety like that's kind of how I felt and I read a lot of comments in here that say very similar things that is not what you done got out of it she fixated on the killers of each documentary and she asked herself I wonder how they feel I wonder how it felt for them to kill and unlike most of us she did not have a healthy human level of curiosity where we have other interests in life yujung did not care to even watch documentaries about cases of Injustice what about all these cases that have gotten solved that need people's attention or to help bring justice to all these victims families she literally watched these documentaries for inspiration how do we know this though so they found a bunch of True Crime in her phone records like shows like digital footprint and that is what a lot of psychiatrists believe and she said that she wanted to feel what it felt like to kill that's another thing there is a conspiracy that she actually didn't kill because she was obsessed with True Crime yeah so I think this is where the whole video games argument kind of comes in I don't think that there's a single thing in this world especially a piece of media like a documentary video game or a movie nothing could make me kill someone and I'm sure that the same goes for all of you psychiatrists have actually come out and said we don't know for sure if this is her motive so as of right now she's being labeled as someone who is so obsessed with True Crime that she killed someone just to feel how it feels to kill a couple of psychiatrists said we don't know that for sure we think that um a lot of us are connecting these dots because as a society we feel better knowing like kind of what I just said about true crime documentaries we feel better knowing that um there's almost a reason when we don't know it makes it scarier so we're going to get into all of that but anyways she escaped her reality to exist in Relish in the reality of being a murderer she would eventually become so engrossed allegedly so obsessed that she had made up her mind and she was gonna kill to see how it felt so we know how the crime went down she was arrested and she tried to lie and said the remains belong to her baby that she had to kill and when that lie was exposed the police found out who the victim was she changed her story once more she stated I did not kill this girl I was just hired to dispose of her body I am not the one who killed the victim someone else did it and I'm just helping because they promised me something in exchange what would they promise you I was promised Hannah's identity she's saying I just wanted to commit identity theft and identity fraud not murder many psychiatrists would later speculate while this is a blatant lie she is the killer but it does give insight into her own thoughts and desires she wanted Hannah's life she was jealous of Hannah's life she wanted her identity and side note police found a digital footprint of her watching the South Korean movie helpless multiple times prior to the murder and this is allegedly one of her favorite movies it's a Korean Thriller the movie is about a couple who are traveling to meet the husband's parents in the countryside of Korea they end up stopping at this rest stop and getting coffee and when the husband returns to the car his wife is gone she's not picking up her phone she just vanished he's like searching through the rest stop he finds a little hairpin in the bathroom she's not in the bathroom he drives all the way back into the city goes to her apartment the apartment looks like it's been completely ransacked so he's like what the hell is going on he gets his cousin involved who is a former police officer and they find out that the wife has been stealing other women's identities and is probably a killer it's like a dark and windy Thriller but the fact that that's her favorite movie I don't know some people say see like she really wanted someone else's life and maybe she's trying to recreate the movie others said what if she's setting up some Twisted alibi what do you mean like some psychiatrists believe we can't trust a single thing that comes out of her mouth so we don't know the motive we don't even know if she wanted to take Hannah's life because she was jealous of Hannah they said that this could be a well-spun fabrication that she was watching this movie to find out her lie I'm gonna lie and say I was trying to steal her identity so does that make sense yeah so she's just constantly lying yeah I mean it's just we don't know at all anyway the police know that this is a lie though that she did not kill Hannah she definitely killed Hannah so they keep pushing and yujung quickly changes her story once more and she stated that she killed Hannah because she got into a fight with Hannah and the police are fed up they don't believe this because why would you get into a fight with someone you don't know and why would you trick them into being your English tutor if you don't even know them like it doesn't make sense so they did not believe this lie either and while she's being stalled by investigators the cops were able to look up her family registry in the system and call Grandpa Jung the man who raised her he rushes to the police station and his whole universe shattered that day this was his only family he raised her like his own daughter and he felt like a complete and utter failure how could he have failed Korea so badly by raising a killer grandfather Zhang rushed to the station and the police asked him to talk to his granddaughter to get the truth he cried as he begged his granddaughter to confess to her crimes he pleaded with her just admit your sins for me do it for me and my integrity and she I mean she had given her grandfather nothing except a lifetime of pain and Grandpa Jung had given her absolutely everything this was the least that he could ask of his granddaughter and yujung confessed her crimes I don't know if she did it for love for her grandfather I don't know she felt like this is it I mean I'm gonna have to fess up I don't know what it was Grandpa Zhang would later be interviewed as he was hounded by the South Korean media and he reported I feel really sorry for the bereaved family because I'm a sinner who raised my granddaughter wrong I never expected this situation I never even imagined this when Grandpa Jung's neighbors were also interviewed after the fact one of them reported I mean the girl was calm quiet and kind kind of but the grandpa was a really nice person so it's safe to assume that yujung was just a bad apple Grandpa Zhang was potentially just another one of her victims when yujung confessed to the police she cited her motivation as I just wanted to experience murder I just wanted to know what it feels like she said that she had been planning this murder since February so it full three to four months and with a confession and a crime scene full of Illuminating evidence the authorities prepared for her prosecution she was officially charged with murder damaging of a body dismemberment and a third charge of body abandonment scattering of the roommates on June 2nd around 9 A.M before appearing before the prosecution she said two short sentences as the media questioned her for her crimes she said in a quote I was out of my mind like I didn't have my right mind I'm sorry for the victim's family foreign foreign she also ended her press interview with thank you which professionals believe that she copied from past criminals interviews behaviors and attitudes yeah so a lot of like Killers yeah like a lot of killers and documentaries they'll give press conferences and like end it with a thank you in Korea and I guess the way she said it didn't feel natural kind of felt like mocking Behavior not mocking but copied Behavior so many netizens who followed this case as it blew up have criticized her words here believing that her apology is this pathetic attempt at appealing for a lower sentence they said that she was using her childlike innocence where her youthful facial features to try and get away with murder however due to this case blowing up there's a chance that the high profile nature is going to pressure authorities to sentence her with a much stricter sentence yet the length of a sentence doesn't seem to mean much to yujung according to police she is doing great in jail she's calm and not the least bit scared or anxious she's eating well sleeping well and not feeling much remorse or at least none that people can see side note netizens were so enraged about this comment that many of them dug into the Busan prison menu and they found out that the prisoners were eating better food than given to the military during their services oh my God the menu is high in quality lots of healthy options fresh veggies and even has dessert options netizens were wondering how the food is better than the food that they eat at home and there were questions of should our tax money really be used in this way after her appearance in front of the media on June 2nd her results from a test that measure psychopathy was released four days later on the 6th the psychopath test was created by a Canadian psychologist Dr Robert D hair in the 70s it's called the hair psychopathy checklist and it asks 20 questions that are supposed to hone in on your true nature professionals allegedly use it to assess cases of psychopathy and it has even been described as the single best predictor of violent Behavior currently available the psychopathy measurement test functions on a scale out of 40. so the lower the score the least likely you are to have traits of a psychopath so Psychopaths they typically score on average of 25 that indicates a very likely tendency to be a psychopath I think normal people fall around like the five or six range but some of the prompts or questions I guess include and you answer them yourself so you would answer like oh I strongly disagree somewhat disagree disagree and then I'm neutral does not apply like all these things and they would say things like I generally evade responsibility and do not answer to anyone in my life yeah yeah so that's like really easily you can pick whatever you want yeah so is it in her best interest to fake that she is I mean probably not because psychopathy is not related to being in a state of psychosis you are not like you're still in the right headspace you just lack empathy and all these other things but okay and um they would say things like I have a grand UI sense of self-worth I have a history of exhibiting Cruelty to others and the patient rates themselves on her first evaluation yujung scored 15 points out of 40 and even though 15 is higher than the normal range which is about five to six for a normal person it's still below 25 points which is the threshold for psychopathy however on June 7th she went through a second evaluation and she reportedly received a score of 28 points some notable comparable scores include Ted Bundy who got um 39 out of 40 and John Wayne Gacy the clown killer got 27 out of 40. so she scored um one point higher than John Wayne Gacy she ranked one point higher than kanguzoon as well which is a notorious serial killer in Korea he kidnapped and murdered eight women he scored 27 points she scored 28. I will say though the test has been criticized by some researchers and experts but regardless of what you think a score indicates or doesn't indicate it's clear that chongya Jong was at least not a normal person and at most a budding serial killer police found evidence that she had been contacting multiple tutors according to a professor oyunsong a specialist in criminal psychology they said if she hadn't been caught on her first kill there's almost a hundred percent chance that she would have killed again I yeah I can see that but the fact that the way she did it for the first time it's so stupid yeah so I think that's where a lot of people say the grand UI sense of self comes into play a lot of these Psychopaths sometimes overestimate their intelligence and ability to accomplish things is the speculation because she does she did seem pretty confident in that CCTV video it just yeah it doesn't make sense it doesn't make sense now another criminal psychology Professor chimed in to state that they believed Tong yajang is a pathological liar the professor even goes as far to speculate that everything tongi Zhang has stated so far her obsession with True Crime her wanting to feel like what it's like to kill someone all of that is a lie all except for the fact that she killed Hannah that is the only thing that they think we should take as facts nothing else should be considered the professor claims we might not even know how meticulously she's been planning or how far in advance or even what her final goal was another criminal psychologist States it's way too early to determine why she even killed they said that we as a society are quick to believe her reasonings not because we are gullible but because otherwise the message would be that no one is safe from such a random type of murder and monster and that is more terrifying now side note on June 8th the Busan police gave an award to the taxi driver who reported the crime to the police however the taxi driver refused to take the prize and he actually quit his job according to colleagues media has been looking for this Taxi Driver like hounding this man down people around him said that he's terrified he's has so much Trauma from this encounter he had driven this young woman with dismembered body parts in the trunk of his taxi at 3am the taxi driver is doing everything that he can to remain out of the public eye he has not given any public interviews and some theorize because South Korea is notorious for letting people out he does not want his name out there because he was that terrified of Chong Yu Zhang that if she is released he believes that she will track him down and kill him is the speculation now as for the tutoring app that Hannah had been utilizing to find clientele a lot of tutors have deleted their profiles because of how easily accessible the tutor's personal information is the original purpose of this app is to assure that the parents have tutors that are actually credible that are going to the schools that they say they are that are getting the grades that they say they are the tutoring app though they don't background check or verify anything about the parents just the tutors and they responded to these concerns and said yes okay yeah we get it but because we cannot verify parents of the students in the app it's you know what can we do so they've done like little to solve this problem and protect the tutors and this type of crime is not unheard of in Korea in 2022 December one man faked his identity as a high school student and lured a female University student tutor to his house in an attempt to essay her reportedly in 2021 one man also faked his identity kidnapped a university student that was a tutor using a similar app keeping her hostage for up to a month and subjecting her to many essays so this is the case as of right now I am sure that there will be more developments but um I don't know what are your thoughts on this case I do think um and I'm obviously biased because I'm someone who is deep in this true crime world but I think it's like the argument of video games I don't think that there's any piece of media that can get someone to kill and I think the way she went about it and just her callous nature in that CCTV footage just very unsettling to know that she had just killed and dismembered someone what are your thoughts let me know in the comments.

UFOs Alien Abduction
when we think of UFOs aliens and the possibility of abduction we tend to gravitate towards Hollywood movies perotic and cartoonish sketches or listen skeptically to the stories from those who claim to have had a direct encounter with an extraterrestrial it would be fair to say that for the majority such claims are easily squashed or redirected towards a claimant mental instability alcohol or drug dependency or perhaps the characteristics of an attention-seeking obsessive regardless of a person's mental state the concept of alien abduction is something that has never been taken seriously despite ongoing investigations sightings and government disclosures into UFO sightings which have sparked Global Intrigue over the last two years and yet there are a handful of stories sightings and investigative reports which have remained at the Forefront of the UFO and conspiracy communities for decades and show no signs of going anywhere anytime soon the Roswell crash of 1947 the Aurora Texas UFO incident of 1897. Adolf Hitler and the Nazis apparent dabbling into the occult as well as other landmark cases have kept the conversation on such Mysteries very much alive one of these cases centers on a happily married couple whose mysterious encounter little would they know at the time would thrust them into the spotlight and would forever attribute their faces to what has become known as The Fourth Kind who were Barney and Betty Hill what happened to them and what does their story tell us about alien abduction society as a whole and the importance of listening towards someone anyone has to say regardless of how crazy they may seem in this documentary we'll travel back in time to the late 1950s when the American dream was reborn and flourishing to a time when unfortunately for Barney and Betty Hill the American Nightmare was about to begin before we begin our entail of what happened to this now famous couple it's worth taking a few moments to understand who they were before the night in question occurred Barney and Betty Hill were an American couple who were no strangers to gossip suspicion and ridicule having been one of the few mixed-raced married couples in their hometown of Portsmouth New Hampshire Barney a black man born in 1922 worked as an employee at the United States Postal Service whilst Betty who was white and three years older than her husband worked as a social worker the couple were extremely fond of their dog dalzi who is often seen in pictures and portraits of the couple and was with them at the time of their encounter having endured numerous comments Slayers and insults for being in a mixed race relationship the hills did not deter from their obligations to the church and their community being regular attendees of the local Unitarian congregation both husband and wife are also proud members of the National Association for the advancement of colored people which was and still is a civil rights organization formed in 1909 Barney was also on the board for his local Commission on civil rights though the couple remain childless until their deaths their legacy would remain very much alive after both claimed to have been abducted by alien beings somewhere in the outskirts of New Hampshire on September 19 1961 the hills names and faces would become synonymous with that of extraterrestrials UFOs and the discussions ran in Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind abduction after countless interviews hypnosis sessions and public disclosures the occurrence would become known as the hill induction and The Zeta reticuli incident due to a star map which was recognized and described in detail by Betty Hill in relation to the Zeta reticuli star system later after many had made up their minds on the story their Fame would remain in the public domain with an adaptation of their encounter being presented as a best-selling 1966 book called The interrupted journey and a subsequent 1970 film the UFO incident with the rise of the internet UFO conspiracy communities and Collective evidence to support the theory that we are not alone in the universe the story of bani and Betty Hill remains one of the most interesting accounts of alien abduction in the last 100 years it is known that the majority of Betty Hill's notes recordings and other items are logged within the vaults of the University of New Hampshire in July 2011 the New Hampshire division of historical resources marked the site of the alleged Craft's first approach with a historical marker as a dedication to the couple and their story yeah the encounter so where do we start the tale of Barney and Betty Hill as recounted in the A4 mentioned 1966 book by John G Fuller started off as a happy scene back in 1961. the reason for the couple being on the road in the first place was that they needed a well-earned rest from their busy lives on a road trip sounded like a great idea the couple decided to visit Montreal Canada in what they considered to be their delayed honeymoon having been married more than 16 months and never setting aside time to celebrate their wedding previously Barney had been working countless night shifts at his job in the post office and is said to have driven 60 miles to and from his house in Portsmouth to tend to his responsibilities likewise Bethy was working hard in her job and was already finding it difficult to spend quality time with her new husband so it was decided after dropping everything on a whim scooping up the dog and grabbing the seventy dollars that they had on the counter Barney and Betty took off on their Adventure enjoying a wonderful three-day trip to Canada visiting the lights of Niagara Falls and more importantly taking the time to appreciate how special their relationship was to one another it was reported that a hurricane was due to cut directly to the couple's route home so it was decided they should head back a little earlier than planned having stopped for a quick coffee at a diner in Vermont the hills took to the road again at 10 pm on the 19th of September with the intention of reaching their house around 2 am in the morning their plan would be short-lived however as a mere 30 minutes into their Journey something happened it has been frequently stated and documented at the supposed encounter began at approximately 10 30 PM just as the hills were easing into their journey home and approaching a large town of Lancaster New Hampshire from the south end it was Betty Who spotted it first claiming to have seen a luminous beacon in the skies above a light that seemed to be moving from the vicinity of the Moon towards the planet Jupiter initially thinking nothing of it they proceeded on their Journey however Betty's eyes continued to glance up at the object as it seemingly grew brighter and larger in the night sky as they approached it from the south directing his gaze from the road to the Stars Barney decided to have a look and inspect what it was that was worrying his wife despite having an interest and knowledge of Aviation mechanics and having served in the second world war Barney came to the passive conclusion but the entity was nothing more than a wayward satellite from there things quite literally took a bizarre turn as Barney round that a mountainous Road the Light began to follow the cars bends and turns remaining high enough not to pose a threat but low enough to hold their attention sphere would navigate with Precision ensuring that it avoided any trees and mountain tops while steadily zoning in on the couple's 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air still undeterred by the mysterious orb Betty and Barney decided to get a better look at it by pulling over to the side of the road somewhere near Twin Mountain allowing dalzi to have a short walk and stretch her legs luckily Betty had packed a pair of binoculars for their sightseeing trip in Canada so decided to put them to good use what she described as an odd-shaped craft seemingly hung in the sky still emitting its radiant light and becoming ever clearer through the magnifying lens of the binoculars according to the startled social worker the orm was in fact a solid object that was spinning in mid-air in an unrecognizable Manner and displaying multi-colored flashes of light that would have been difficult to notice without the assistance of the binoculars startled by this spectacle Betty instructed her husband to take a look still assuming that the crowd was a satellite or militarized aircraft Barney did as used hold and quickly regretted his decision as the entity was now making its way directly towards them at a steady pace it was now the turn of the recently married couple to navigate with intelligence and precision making their way through Franconia Notch a mountain pass traversed by a unique Parkway which extends from The Flume Gorge at the South to Echo Lake in the North the hills kept track of the object's movements it was at this point that Barney Holsted his handgun from the glove compartment and Betty took the time to estimate the size of the UFO as it passed over Cannon Mountain as being approximately 40 feet long by now the craft was extremely visible and its looming presence was beginning to intimidate all three of them taking his pistol in his hand bani kept a fixed Gaze on the craft as he attempted to confront him by stopping the car again and peering through the binoculars steadying himself in the event of a standoff it was at this point the Barney claimed to have seen between 8 and 11 humanoid shapes within the aircraft's capsule most of them were looking out of its windows and down towards the terrified onlooker shockingly the figures moved around shuffling themselves into a collective formation before one of the aliens approached the front of the ship and according to Barney decided to communicate with him telepathically for what seemed like an eternity for the postal worker the creature stared at him intensely before sending a message to his subconscious telling him to stay where you are and keep looking Instinct was also telling him to raise his gun Take Aim and fire yet when bani tried to do what his body was yearning to do he found that he couldn't he was frozen by fear and something else that he could not explain something which was forced upon him by the humanoid creature unable to protect himself his wife and his dog Barney was completely at the mercy of this strange Starship and its inhabitants the creatures themselves were described as wearing glossy black uniforms and black caps craft then descended towards the ground and winged latches opened up from the science and front producing a long structural slide from the bottom of the ship's body luckily and for some strange reason the spout was briefly broken and so using all the energy in his body Barney was able to break away from the hypnotic trance of the visitors and sprinted back to the car with Betty and dousey sat in Terror before they could take off and drive away from the object and its colonists the last thing they could remember was a series of loud measured beeping noises and vibrations surrounding the trunk of their vehicle and feeling an instant lethargic sensation consuming them which quickly rendered them unconscious exactly two hours later Barney and Betty Hill regained consciousness to their surprise in horror they found themselves approximately 35 miles from where they remembered passing out not wanting to linger any longer and with the UFOs seemingly out of sight they started at the car and drove as fast as they could back to their home in Portsmouth only when they arrived did they notice that they were covered in dirt and both their watches had stopped working although the encounter itself was now over little did they know just how important and significant their terrifying tale would become in the months and years that follow arriving home upon arrival back at their home in Portsmouth Barney and Betty Hill would spend the rest of the day attempting to put the pieces together in determining what had just occurred why did they feel a strong urge to keep their luggage packed and near the back door of their home why did Barney constantly check his genital area why did they continuously wash themselves obsessively it could have been due to fear of radiation or the possibility of being violated in all sorts of heinous ways Betty noticed her horror but her dress had been torn the stitching and zippers burst open uncovered in a mysterious pink powder that ever since has been unable to decipher even after various lab tests were conducted unable to understand what had happened and what was happening to them the couple attempted to draw images of what they saw at fateful night as well as connecting the dots in chronological order as best they could but to no avail they describe their car as having obscure circular markings carved onto the Bonnet and was surprised to find the way Compass was laid next to them the needle would spin erratically it was then that the dream started dreams or nightmares approximately 10 days after the encounter with the spacecraft and its inhabitants Betty Hill began to suffer from extreme lucid dreams over the course of five nights dreams that would initially be dismissed as Mind Tricks but would eventually overwhelm Betty's paranoid mindset try not to worry a husband she began to document the dreams in a diary as they were so vivid and clear that she couldn't ignore them anymore in one of the dreams she and Bonnie came across a dead end Road whilst driving in their car almost immediately a group of men appear from nowhere and surround the car before it jumps ahead to another Moment In Time the next scene is of Betty being led into a wooded area by two relatively small men wearing blue colored uniforms whose skin was a mixture of blue and gray and she is followed by her husband who is in some sort of uncommunicative hypnotic state this specific dream ends with the couple being led back to their car and left motionless as they watched the men enter a similar shaped craft that they saw the previous week before it takes off into the sky above reminiscent and eerily similar to the events that took place on their journey home the loss of time between encountering the gray creatures and their craft to regain Consciousness in the car terrified Betty to her core the initial report unable to shift the sense of dread paranoia and fear in the months following their strange encounter with the UFO Betty still referencing her dreams and becoming obsessed with finding the truth came across the national investigations committee on aerial phenomena at the local library after discussing her concerns with Barney it was agreed that they report the sighting to the group and to the U.S Air Force for fear of radiation or infection and in the hope that they may be able to provide answers on October 22nd 1961 Barney would go on record to the committee to state that what they saw that night was out of this world and the creatures Were Somehow not human case was assigned to Walter and Webb a boston-based astronomer an nicap member who decided to conduct an extensive interview with the couple that lasted over six hours whereby any and all information was discussed and recorded as the interview progressed it became obvious that Barney was frustrated confused and afraid that he was losing his mind due to the loss of time vagueness of memory and the possibility that his subconscience was hiding memories from him luckily for the hills Mr Webb would also go on records to state that in his opinion they were telling the truth and the incident probably occurred exactly as reported except for some minor uncertainties and technicalities that must be tolerated in any such observations where human judgment is involved EG exact time and length of visibility apparent sizes of object and occupants distance and height of objects Etc finally getting closer to the truth hypnosis after Walter Webb's report was concluded filed and peer-reviewed it was recommended to the hills that perhaps a few sessions of hypnotic therapy would assist them in coming to terms with what had happened and possibly provide additional evidence and Clarity of the events one of the burning questions for both Benjamin Simon the psychiatrist and the hills was the concept of missing time and why the newly married couple could not account for the hours and distance that was accumulated during their apparent blackout the only thing they could recall was the image of a blazing orb that was sitting stationary on the ground somewhere on Route 35 this along with Barney's concerns for his wife's dreams and mental state was enough information to begin the sessions they began with Barney who after weeks of therapy sessions was able to recall being led into the alien capsule not long after passing out from the pressure and disorientation fouled by the vibrations bani was able to describe a small examination room with bright lights odd-shaped walls and a very small table to which he was fastened stripped and experimented on by the humanoid beings through hypnosis he described to Simon how he and his wife had hair nail and skin samples extracted from them as well as having wires connected to various parts of their bodies most worryingly was when one of the creatures supposedly inserted a large needle into his wife's belly to apparently test for pregnancy causing Betty to Rife and scream in pain interestingly Barney then recalls being in the middle of a forest and coming across a group of men who approached his car and led him blindly through the wooden lands with his wife in front of him he stated I was told to close my eyes because I saw two eyes coming close to mine and I felt that the eyes had pushed into my eyes Betty concurred but the aliens were using some sort of telepathy to communicate with them as they spoke in a language that they didn't understand but were able to do so as instructed by the so-called leader of the Extraterrestrial group although they were notable but minor differences in Betty's Recollections during her sessions the general account of what happened to the couple was quite clearly coherent after multiple neurological tests interviews and hypnotic sessions the hills record of what occurred that night was collected and reviewed extensively Benjamin Simon would confirm his findings publishing a full report on his conclusions in psychiatric opinion a medical journal which focused on various mental illnesses and Mysteries of the Mind he attributed the case of Barney and Betty Hill to that of psychological aberration which is considered to be a deviation from normal mental activity resulting in derangement and or psychopathy although he did not believe that they were lying Simon was able to diagnose them through a variety of symptoms and reasons this unfortunate decision was backed by members of Project Blue Book the top secret study of unidentified flying objects by the United States Air Force which ran from March 1952 to December 17 1969 who dismissed the story and their mental state as being down to natural causes however the national investigations committee on aerial phenomena would come to their defense supporting the couple's assertions but they may in fact have been abducted by deeming their account as credible x marks the spot one of the most significant not to mention bizarre descriptions came from Betty whilst under hypnosis in which she drew a star map that initially was considered an insignificant doodled sketch but would later be the talking point of a 1966 book named the interrupted Journey two lost hours aboard a flying saucer after hearing of the couple's testimony and becoming fascinated with their story John G Fuller a new england-based American Author gained approval from both the hills and Benjamin Simon to write and publish their strange Adventure in print already an established columnist and author of multiple articles and books on the supernatural Fuller took the project seriously and gathered as much information no matter how irrelevant to form the basis of his book including the illustrations the star map drawn by Betty after his publication in 1966 the interrupted Journey became a success and helped reignite the debate to surrounding UFO phenomena and that of the various kinds of Close Encounters however for Marjorie fish an elementary school teacher and amateur astronomer it was the picture of the star map that led to her personal fascination with the couple's story having read Fuller's book in 1968 fish took it upon herself to try and analyze and decode the drawing in relation to the cosmological blueprint of space to try and understand with a craft and the alien creatures had originated she was able to construct a 3D model of sun-like stars using various materials to measure the distances in comparison to the same Stars which were documented in the 1969 gleesy star catalog fish concluded that the drawing was extremely similar to that to The Zeta reticuli star system as the illustration supposedly shows the sky as seen for a planet orbiting the Zeta reticuli this large Southern system within reticulum a small faint constellation in the southern sky can be seen with the naked eye as a double star in very dark skies and is located approximately 39.3 light years away from Earth after an in-depth analysis and conclusive report were issued to Walter Webb both parties agreed that the drawing was indeed that of The Zeta reticuli star system something Betty Hill knew nothing of though many subsequent reports investigations and astronomers would reject the hypothesis posed by fish it certainly got people talking how could someone with a basic knowledge of space stars and planets be able to draw under hypnotic therapy an advanced star system 39 light years from Earth in 1989 the hippocar satellite at the European space agency was launched deemed to be the first of its kind this satellite's obligation was to document and analyze the measurements of the positions of celestial objects in the sky three combination of radial velocity measurements from spectroscopy those involved in the project were able to calculate the relative information needed to determine the motion of stars the mission ended in 1993 however whilst in space astronomers decided to put fish's Theory to the test and use their technology to take measurements of the zatar ratakuli unfortunately for the teacher the hippocus's findings showed that some of the stars on her blueprint were much further away than previously thought resulting in fish publicly renouncing her theories and assumptions Skeptics and so with this public rejection we now look at a few Skeptics who weighed in on the story hypotheses and the married couple themselves Robert Shafer of the skeptical Inquirer took to printing his review of the account after attending the National UFO conference in 1980 the event which took place in New York was attended by Betty Hill herself who spoke of the incident and presented the audience with supposed photographs that she had taken of UFOs according to Betty those mostly blurred images were evidence but the extraterrestrials were still haunting her watching her every move and continuously experimenting on her and her environment for Robert and the audience at large this was the final straw as he states that after her talk had exceeded about twice its allotted time Betty was literally jeered off the stage by what had been at first a sympathetic audience this incident witnessed by many of ufology's leaders and top activists removed any lingering doubts about Betty's credibility she had none the columnist noted that in the Years following her husband's death Betty would go on UFO vigils on a regular basis throughout the week it was apparent that she was becoming frantically obsessed with the concept of UFOs aliens and possibly attempting to relive or at least make sense of what happened that fateful night in 1961 one of these patrols was attended by John Oswald a local resident who had a keen interest in the UFO phenomenon however when he was quizzed on the event and Betty Hill's state of mind he responded Mrs Hill was unable to distinguish between a landed UFO and a street light another critic of the Hill's version of events came from another local resident named Jim McDonald who felt obliged to propose an alternative Theory based on his knowledge of the landing and adjoining roads after fully analyzing the account paying particular attention to the supposed route of the couple took on their way home from Canada McDonald was able to deduce the spacecraft as being nothing more than an aircraft warning Beacon that sits atop Cannon Mountain having traveled the specific route many times himself McDonald states that the warning Beacon intermittently appears and reappears throughout the high mountainous Skyline at exactly the same time the couple claimed to have been chased by the UFO this information though helpful is somewhat diminished when McDonald proposed his theory on the subsequent events of the night and the possible abduction relating it simply to stress sleep deprivation and false memories the word stress appeared quite often by those who didn't believe the abduction Theory being a mixed race couple during a time of social unrest throughout the United States would have certainly played a major factor in the couple's relationship as well as their safety undoubtedly they would have encountered racial abuse ridicule and threats from those who adopted the close-minded mentality at the time and would have put unquestionable strain on their relationship at some point with their workload and responsibility to the community and local church taking up most of their time and resources the possibility of hallucinations caused by burnout cannot be overlooked it has been declared by Leading psychologists that false memories forced the brain to conjure up stories sometimes highly elaborate stories to fill in the blanks in order to piece together the mysterious events or timelines that took place some say that the social financial and emotional pressures faced by the hills resulted in the couple using the rise of the UFO phenomenon and that of the Cold War to take advantage of growing paranoia to make money via a carefully calculated and coordinated scam perhaps this opportunity mixed with a mental breakdown LED Betty Hill to pursue her obsession with unidentified flying objects and photographing the so-called evidence of her captor's aircrafts throughout the rest of her life Legacy Bonnie Hill died of cerebral hemorrhage on February 25 1969 age 46. Betty would live on to the age of 85 passing away on October 17 2004 due to cancer having never remarried or bearing children and yet even to this Bright Day the events that took place in September 1961 the Barney and Betty Hill remain a Fascination for UFO enthusiasts filmmakers and investigators as they continuously fixate on the mysteriousness of the evening in question film was made in 1975 for television audiences and starred James L Jones as Barney and Estella Parsons as Betty and focused on the couple's story as well as their relationship to one another in 2015 the reports of a film and television series based on the incident an adaptation of renowned American nuclear physicist Stanton T Friedman's 2007 book captured the Betty and Barney Hill UFO experience the true story of the world's first documented alien abduction though many documentaries have been shelved the latest report as of late 2022 is that the streaming giant Netflix will be producing an in-depth documentary on the couple and the occurrence a roadside marker on Daniel Webster Highway on Route 3 in Lincoln New Hampshire was also erected to commemorate the incident and the couple's Legacy [Music] so what do you think here were Betty and Barney held the victims of a terrifying ordeal abducted by extraterrestrial beings as test subjects for their invasive hideous experiments did they really experience a close encounter of The Fourth Kind only to be ridiculed and ousted from many within their community and humiliated by those to whom they were seeking help or could it be that Bonnie and Betty Hill were mere scam artists looking for a loophole in a world that was slowly losing its mind to paranoia fear and confusion perhaps we'll never know the truth is we live in a world where technology and scientific advancement is constantly ingraining itself within our society our relationships and into the exploration of our surrounding planets and that of the cosmos television social media and the internet gives one the opportunity to seek out the truth and discuss many of life's mysteries and yet despite this massive step towards infinite knowledge and information there are still those stories that are worth retelling and remain unsolved for Barney and Betty Hill their case will forever be cause for speculation investigation and argument all we know for sure is that something happened that night which made us question who we are and who else is out there we hope you enjoyed this video take care and as always keep searching

Disappear With No Clue
to their fate or go missing for days unable to remember what has happened to them or Worse still meet their death in bizarre circumstances with no plausible explanation while in this video we'll look at 10 cases but that is exactly what happened when the individuals involved ventured into national parks and never returned mirroring what David plaiders believes these cases and hundreds like them are unusual and mysterious and with the lack of any other explanation is there something about national parks and other forested areas around the world that pose an unknown but Sinister danger to us all now before we begin if you'd like us to go in depth on any one of these individuals then head over to patreon at the end of the video to take part in our poll the case with the highest number of votes will be turned into an in-depth podcast episode over on the Hit the Lights podcast as always if you haven't already done so hit those lights sit back and enjoy foreign [Music] on July 25th 1981 14 year old Stacey Harris from Saratoga went on a horse riding trip with her father George and seven others in the sunrise Meadows area of Yosemite National Park in California after riding for a few hours the group stopped at Sunrise High Sierra Camp where they intended to stay the night after freshening up Stacy told her dad she was going for a walk to stretch her legs and take pictures of the views she asked him if he wanted to come but he told her he'd pass although he did advise her to change her flip-flops to more suitable walking Footwear Stacey was seen walking towards a boulder where an older member of the group Gerald Stewart was sitting she told Gerald she was going to take a walk to a nearby lake Gerald offered to walk with her but after a short time he felt tired and sat down to rest while Stacey carried on alone this was the last time she was ever seen when Stacey didn't return it was Gerald who raised the alarm and a search party was sent out however despite a vast search and rescue operation the only thing ever found was the lens cap from Stacy's camera there were no indications of an animal attack or a scuffle of any kind and no sign has ever been found of Stacy's camera or her clothing she simply vanished off the face of the Earth [Music] the missing days of Danny flippidis [Music] on February 2nd 2018 firefighter Danny flippidis who was on a ski trip with friends at the Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort briefly parted from the group to retrieve his cell phone from his car but he never returned his disappearance sparked a massive search six days later Danny turned up in Sacramento still dressed in his ski gear with no ID except a single credit card he had no idea how he ended up there but believed he may have flagged down a truck and the next thing he remembered was the truck driver telling him he was in Utah nearly 2 000 miles away from Whiteface Mountain Dany eventually got a phone but took a day to remember his wife's phone number to call for help once Danny returned home safely questions and speculations swirled around his cross-country Journey the supposed truck driver who transported into Sacramento seemed to be the only one who could solve the mystery however authorities could not identify the driver and despite publicity he has never come forward it's believed Dany suffered a head injury at some point resulting in a concussion and memory loss however there are those that believe that Daniel was abducted by aliens and returned after they had carried out experiments all that some other Sinister force was to blame the truth is we may never know it is unlikely Dany will ever remember what happened and with no sign of the truck driver The Disappearance and what happened during those last six days is a complete mystery Timothy Barnes on July 5th 1988 24 year old Timothy Barnes from Cucamonga California intended to hike from Murphy Creek tail head to poly Dome lakes in Yosemite National Park he left Tania lakes near Highway 120 at approximately 9 am I was expected to return by 4 30 pm when he didn't show up the following morning one of his friends reported him to Park Service Rangers as missing an extensive search of the surrounding area failed to yield any evidence of Timothy's whereabouts and he has never been seen or heard from since on July 19 1990 two years after his disappearance Timothy was declared legally dead but the people just varnish Without a Trace or do they want to [Music] the orcans two-year-old djorkun's Junior from Idaho Falls disappeared on July 10 2015 while visiting Timber Creek Campground in Idaho with his parents Jessica Mitchell and vernal de orkins along with other friends and family members dior's parents went fishing with a friend and thought their son was being watched by his great-grandfather Robert Walton he in turn claimed he thought his parents were watching the toddler when they realized Dior was missing a search was launched but no trace of the boy was found after the police interviewed Vernal and Jessica and gathered evidence they became suspects there were discrepancies in their accounts and they both failed multiple polygraph tests however they were never arrested or charged from the beginning the parents claimed that they did not know what happened to their son and that as they walked towards the creek to fish the boy followed them but then decided to return to be with his great grandfather that was the last anybody saw of him multiple massive searches have been conducted through the Mountain Meadows dense Pine forests and waterways in the weeks and months since Dion disappeared but no solid evidence of his whereabouts has ever been found but a few things do not add up the boy was said to be wearing cowboy boots they size too big for his feet which had actually kept slipping off and many speculated that if he was attacked by an animal or snatched the boots would have fallen off but no trace of the boots has ever turned up both the parents publicly admitted to the media that either of them was capable of harming their son since dior's disappearance they have since split up and moved on with their lives but there is a lot more to this story with far more questions and answers if you'd like us to go more in depth on this topic then head on over to the patreon poll and select The Disappearance of djokuns [Music] James Pruitt on February 28 2019 70 year old James Pruitt parked his car at the glacier Gorge parking lot at Rocky Mountain National Park and set out for a day of hiking on March 3rd Park Rangers contacted James's family in Tennessee as his car was parked in the lot with no overnight permit his family confirmed he was in the area they hadn't heard from him since February 28th they were unaware of his destination for that day but said James had no intention of staying overnight in the park the National Park Service initiated extensive search efforts in the area that were hindered by heavy snowfall but could not locate James search efforts continued throughout the year the overall search area encompassed approximately 15 square miles and included the glacier Court drainage the lockvale drainage and the glacier Creek drainage but nothing was ever turned up no clues no remains nothing James Pruitt is still a missing person and to date investigations continue but similar to most of these cases there is no explanation no closure and no indication as to where James is now foreign 39 year old Dr James mcgrogan was visiting Vale in March 2014 a small town at the base of Vale Mountain and the center of the vast ski resort set within the White River National Forest in Colorado at around 8 30 am on the morning of March 14th Jim as he was known and three companions left on the nine mile hike to the eisemann hut at the time there was a lot of snow in the area there was several feet deep in some parts however Jim and his friends were experienced hikers well prepared for the elements at about 10 AM with about five miles to go the group stopped to rest but Jim was Keen to hike on ahead of the party and they expected to catch up with him along the way but he was never seen alive again [Music] by 5 30 PM the others had notified authorities that Jim was missing and a rescue operation was launched a five-day search failed to find any signs of him Jim's cell phone pinged once the day he went missing but after that it went dead 20 days later a group of Back Country skiers found a body about four and a half miles from the booth Falls area it was identified as Jim he was found still wearing his helmet but had no coat or gloves on and strangely no boots he was still in possession of his cell phone in an area where there would have been signal and his snowboard was found nearby [Music] his boots have never been located and the coroner confirmed that James died of multiple injuries including head trauma and a broken femur and his death was ruled an accident but as with all these cases there are a lot of unanswered questions as to the circumstances that led James so far of course why didn't he use his cell phone to call for help or his GPS tracker both of which we can assume were fully functional at the time of his disappearance why did he leave on his own and where are his boots it's been suggested he succumbed to hypothermia and began to paradoxically undress it's a possibility but why he didn't call for help is a mystery and has caused many to believe another force was to blame foreign [Music] on September 22nd 2012 53 year old Linda artiga was hiking with her brother Eddie in the forests of the Arkansas Ozarks near the town of Saint Joe Eddie returned alone after becoming separated from his sister and when she didn't make it out of the woods a large-scale search was launched miraculously Linda was found five days later in a distressed state however when Linda was questioned about how she ended up alone in the woods she couldn't remember a thing in her mind her brother was hurt and she had tried to find help for him as she walked through the woods she spotted other hikers and tried to communicate with them but they ignored her as if she wasn't there she also said she could see other shadowy figures hiding from her in the woods saying they were weird people very weird people one of the rescue workers who found Linda believed she wasn't of sound mind when he found her and had since been speculated that whilst trying to survive alone for five days Linda may have ingested some hallucinogenic berries although there was no real evidence of this and to this day it remains unclear what really happened to Linda and who the strange people she referred to actually were [Music] morgenheimer 22 year old Morgan Heimer was working as a guide for the rafting company tall West the group were on day six of an eight-day trip on the Colorado River when Heimer went missing he was last seen on Tuesday June 2nd 2015 at approximately 4 pm around River mile 213 near pumpkin Springs in the Grand Canyon National Park before his disappearance Morgan had told the lead guide he was taking some time off that afternoon but when he didn't return for dinner he was reported missing at first searches weren't overly concerned as Morgan had the skills and ability to survive even if he had gotten lost and they thought there was a high likelihood he would be found alive and well but after six days of extensive searches of both the rivers and land there was no sign of Morgan and no evidence of him has ever been found this is yet another baffling Vanishing in the national park with no plausible explanation other than possibly something sinister was responsible [Music] Derek looking 24 year old Derek luking worked as an orderly at a Pennsylvania Behavioral Health Center in Tennessee but when he didn't turn up for work on March 15 2015 alarm Bells rang attempts to contact him via his cell phone failed and eventually it was his roommate Ryan who confirmed he was missing Ryan contacted Derek's family but they had no idea where he was and rushed from their home in Virginia to Tennessee to help look for him after looking through Derek's computer they found a search for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and a reservation for a hotel the family went out looking in the area and by luck found Derek's car a white Ford Escape in the parking lot of Newfound Gap on the Tennessee North Carolina line [Music] inside the car were several items of newly purchased survival gear worth around one thousand dollars there were also Pages for a military survival manual a wallet and some cash Derek had obviously been preparing for a trip Into the Wilderness he was known to be a big fan of Bear Grylls and this led people to believe he may have been trying to emanate his Hero by going off into the Wilderness without his survival gear however they also found a disturbing note that read don't try to follow me in another Twist on March 17th surveillance video showed Derek leaving the Microtel in and Suites in Cherokee near the National Park on the bed of his hotel room was a Bible and on the floor was a liquor bottle the video footage will be the last ever sighting of Derek an extensive search was launched and Rangers interviewed other hikers who were in The Park at the time but strangely no one could remember seeing Derek Derek's Father Tim said he had noticed a change in his son prior to his disappearance he had started drinking a bit and smoking however friends didn't believe he was depressed or had any Suicidal Tendencies although he was unhappy with his job since 2012 no sign of Derek has ever been found and he is still listed as missing the Great Smoky Mountain Park Service are still searching for Derek and his family continued to raise awareness in the hope that one day there will be an explanation for his Vanishing the question is did he walk away from life was he injured or is there some other outcome foreign case of Stephen kubaki in 2018 23 year old Stephen kubaki was a student at Hope College a small private Christian University near the southeastern shore of Lake Michigan in February of that Year Stephen went on a solo cross-country skiing trip for a day or two this was common for Stephen as he was an experienced cross-country skier however this time he didn't return when his search was launched a 200-yard trail of footprints in the snow were discovered that led past the edge of a lake before ending abruptly leading investigators to conclude that Stephen drowned somewhere under a thick layer of unbroken ice Steven skis and backpack were also found abandoned an extensive air and land search was undertaken but no sign of Stephen was found over a year after The Disappearance on May 5th 1979 Stephen kubaki woke up on a grassy knoll in Pittsfield Massachusetts 700 miles from where he had vanished he had no memory of the previous 14 and a half months and only realized how much time had passed once he bought a newspaper and saw the date he managed to make his way to an aunt's house in Great Barrington and from there he was reunited with his shocked family Stephen later told how he remembered right up until the time he disappeared when he got lost and felt cold after that he had no clue what happened to him although the backpack he had with him indicated he had traveled widely but he didn't recognize any of his clothing or the glasses he was wearing today kubaki works as a psychologist and is Alive and Well in the Pacific Northwest he rarely talks about his missing 14 months but theorists have suggested that Stephen's disappearance was close to the Southeastern boundary of the so-called Lake Michigan Triangle an area where numerous unexplained air disasters shipwrecks and vanishings have occurred where some believe aliens or some other Supernatural forces are responsible what do you think so that's it for this video some of these cases are incredibly interesting and again head on over to patreon to take part in the poll on which individual you'd like to learn more about thanks for watching and as always we'll see you in the next video me
