The Day the Party Ended
2019: The Year of the Party (Part II of III) The first month of us being "boyfriends" in January felt like I was on cloud 9. I couldn't imagine that I was going to feel this way again. All of those breathtakingly beautiful butterflies and gut wrenching feelings of happiness and excitement. The fact that we were long distance just sort of added to it. Not only were we both admitting to those feelings - but we couldn't see each other for a while and it added to the longing and the excitement and we decided our first trip we should spend as a couple would be in Cancun.

End of the Road...
It all started with a break-up. The usual story of gay dating. After 2 years of bliss in New York together, I got a dream job in San Francisco and we decided to go long distance. It lasted well. We weathered his house burning down, the passing of his mother and my kidney stones. He graduated. He did his first triathlon. I thrived in the new company, adapted to constant beautiful days.

Dating a College Jock...When You are 42 (Part 5)
We woke up late Saturday morning. I had already become quite fond of Pablo's childlike behaviors in the morning. As he woke up, he would reach over to me and tell me what he wanted in one word. It wasn't a kiss or conversation or even morning head - no - this feisty Colombian started every morning by telling me he wanted "desayuno" (breakfast)- and I noticed upon waking up he would either say this one word in the tone of an excited kid at Christmas - or a plaintive kid who was being denied his favorite toy. Either way, it was always charming and the thought of the breakfast buffet in the lobby filled him with a passionate energy - so he hopped out of bed, threw on shorts and a t-shirt and looked me expectantly.

Dating a College Jock ...when you are 42
A few weeks after I had returned home to the U.S, I saw a new facebook request. The name looked slightly familiar - as did the picture, but I couldn't quite place it. When I looked more in depth at the profile, it suddenly clicked, it was Pablo.
