While it has been fading for the last month, it has been announced today that it is not just no longer visible to the human eye, but they are unable to detect or create the wavelength of light that is responsible for this colour. They have also predicted that at the current rate of fade that green will have disappeared by the end of 2020, leaving us in a colourless world”.
Anna double-checked the map on her phone, she’d thought walking between her best friend’s house and the supermarket would be easy, but she’d been lost in three turns, she couldn’t believe how confusing the town her best friend had moved to was. She turned the TV on, looking for something to distract her from her hangover, anything. But every channel she flicked through was the same.
“Sergie, Sergei. Stop slamming the box closed. My fingers are still in it. Sergei. Shit man, what’s wrong with you?” Clare extracted her fingers from the case that Sergei had been forcefully closing on them. She lifted them up to the light to get a better look at them, sure that she would have some bruises already. When she was satisfied that her fingers were intact, she looked over at Sergei, ready to berate him, but the words died on her lips when she looked out the window beyond him.
“1899, 1910, 1920, 1935, 1941, 1955, 1963, 1970, 1984, 1992, 2002, 2010.” He threw the photos down on the table. “Do you have anything you’d like to say?”
Everyone knew the time travellers story, they studied it in school, they watched the many TV shows and movies about them.
