Love, Laughs, And Lefse
What dessert do you associate with Christmas? For me that dessert is lefse. I grew up with it being a tradition to make it every year, and the tradition still continues. The lefse recipe has been passed down five generations. My Great Grandma taught my Grandma, who taught my Mom, who taught my siblings and I, who in turn have taught my nieces and nephews.

My Beach Getaway
I’m blessed to have grown up in a family that traveled a lot. My parents both grew up in Saskatchewan and moved to Ontario for their occupations. All of their family stayed out west. Every other summer my family would pack up to drive out west. I have a lot of fond memories of those trips. My Dad was a University Mathematics professor and had to attend annual conventions. My siblings and I knew from the start that these family road trips ended when we got to the upper grades of high school. Some of the destinations I got to see were Disneyland, the Indy 500, and The Grand Ole Opry. The first time I ever went on a plane ride was an unforgettable experience. I was with a singing group that summer. We’d already traveled from British Columbia to Ontario by bus. They saved the best for the last week and a half of the summer in Brazil. My first flight was from Calgary to Brazil. Although I was a nervous wreck for my first flight, in time it became an adrenaline rush. Now when I plan a trip to a destination that I’m flying to, I count the number of days until I get to depart.

The One Eyed Monster
The One Eyed Monster One morning as my family and I were walking out of church we saw a large crowd gathered around my friend Alisha’s truck. From a distance, I could hear exclamations like, “Awe, how cute!” We all went to see what all the fuss was about. It turned out that Alisha had brought a litter of kittens to church to find some loving homes. Being the youngest of four children, my siblings picked me to be the advocate. I took my job very seriously, feeling that the future of our family depended on me. I smiled really big and batted my long eyelashes as I politely made my plea. I even added a cute little shoulder shrug at the end for additional affect. My Dad said they would talk about it and proceeded to send my siblings and I to the vehicle. Clearly they didn’t want us interfering with this life altering decision. We anxiously watched and waited as my Dad attempted to convince my Mom it was a good idea. As you may have guessed, my Dad won the argument. Due to her grey complexion, we affectionately named Dusty. The instant we arrived home, the little ball of cuteness transformed into the one eyed monster. One of Dusty’s eyes was always looking for mischief, while the other was looking to see if anyone was watching.

Candid Confessional
If we’re being honest, I believe ninety percent of people have called in sick to work without actually being sick. Personally, I’ve perfected the “I’m sick” voice on the phone and have even learned to throw in the occasional fake cough. My fake reason for calling in sick has been the same on various occasions. The truth is I actually don’t feel well, however the feelings are self induced. For years I had a problem with drinking alcohol and I'd call in sick when I was hungover. This was never my reason for calling in sick until after I moved out of my parents house.

The Perfect Day
What is it that you look the most forward to doing after the quarantine is over? I look forward to spending time with friends and family in some of my favorite spots. Being a single person it's just been my housemate and I during this time of isolation.

Honolulu Holiday
Is there a certain place that is on your bucket list for taking a vacation? For me that place is Honolulu. My parents went there to celebrate thirty years of marriage. After hearing all of their stories and seeing pictures of the beautiful ocean, I've wanted to go there myself.

Fresh Start
For this particular challenge about women who inspire, I chose to focus on someone very near and dear to my heart named Grace. She has shown me the importance of not only following you own dreams, but also supporting the ambitions of your spouse and children.

Empowered And Inspired
When I look at my best friend Anna I see a brave, courageous women who fights for the ones she loves. Anna got married in her early twenties and as an outsider, things seemed to be going pretty well in her life. Anna and her husband seemed happy when I would see them together. Eventually they had a little boy. While their son was still young I started to see the twinkle in Anna's eye fade when she was with her husband.
