Therapy for a Psychic
Ever dated a princess before? Most people, like myself, haven’t, but man do I have a story for you. Let me clear some things up: I’m a psychic, born and raised by my darling mother who suffers from early onset dementia. She sees things and I see things but the nurses that take care of her just think they’re things. It’s hard to visit her, but I do it every morning, and sometimes she remembers me, but she mostly wants out of that place. I understand why. It’s riddled with death and can be terrifying for us. I get scared just thinking about some of the things I’ve seen.

The Woman with the Blue Umbrella
Our destinies are determined for us. My ex used to say that your choices don’t matter because your destiny already has its own outcome. She would say that nothing in the universe can change your fate. I almost started to believe her, in all honesty. I almost fell into that same depressing narrative she had. But at my lowest, I met the woman with the blue umbrella.

The Winter Market
My dad and mom adopted me when I was 10 and a couple of years after she passed, my dad remarried and moved us back to where he’d grown up. It was a small town behind country roads and farm fields with the outskirts being shrouded by trees everywhere you looked. Most of the houses were painted bright colours, many of the oldest houses decorated with vine-covered stones and moss dusted roofs. At 22, I bought my house as soon as it went onto the market, and spent almost a week painting it royal blue. It was just down the road from my dads’, but I fell in love with it.

A Canary's Dame
It was a bright, cloudless day in the middle of June, and Winny was nearing the hotel she would be staying at for the next three weeks. She had finally made enough money while working as a nurse to buy a new car and ditch the ghosts of her past for a clean slate by herself. Although she was the sole heir of her parents’ money, it wouldn’t be available until she turned 23, though she had already designated half of it to go towards charity. She didn’t want to use that money, but knew that she would eventually need it.
