Walking Ms. Julia
And they called it Puppy Love WALKING Ms. JULIA I watched Ms. Julia from my living room window taking her afternoon walk. Rain or shine, umbrella or not you could always count on Ms. Julia taking her walk. But lately, my neighbors including myself, noticed that she had stopped speaking, or even waving, to us as she continued on her way. Ms. Julia plodded on with head and shoulders drooping and her eyes steadfastly watching the slits in the sidewalk that divided the gray concrete squares. Every day she had noticeably and progressively begun to walk like a preoccupied zombie.

SARDINES
SARDINES If You Can Get Past the Smell Summer tastes like a can of sardines. It was the fifties. Joito my cousin on my father’s side convinced me that moving up to New York would be the best thing we could do as far as finding an excellent job. I had no ways or means to continue with my schooling. I cannot say who of my parents was to blame. She kicked him out and he promptly left. Never contributing again to the health and welfare of his once upon a time family. My parents had made the proverbial split and he had moved up north and started a new family.

KNOCKING ON HEAVENS DOOR
I was abruptly startled from my deep meditation (some would call it an early nap) by a loud banging in the vicinity of my rear window. “Now who could that be at this time of the morning,” I thought. “And why did they not use the front doorbell?” I quickly rose from my comfortable chair in the living room. “One of my neighbors must be having some sort of emergency,” I quickly surmised. There it goes again the banging continued intermittently, close to the windowpane. I hesitated at the rear door for a moment assessing the situation, then decided that I would look out of the window first before opening the door to who knows what.

Let-Go-My-Eggo
There weren’t always dragons in the valley, Mr. Peters explained. Before the dragons and dinosaurs there were many evolving creatures that existed. Even for those with almost invulnerable bodies fit for life on this planet, the end came suddenly. They too made way for even more incredible creatures and life forms.
