Jungle Phoenix
Ryvin checked his parachute again as he got ready to jump from the plane. His goal was to find the Phoenix and prove to everyone it was real. Looking out over the jungle, he spotted a few landmarks from his last visit. He was close now. The clearing past the bridge was coming up. It was the closest he could get to the ruins. They protected the entrance to a valley with a canopy so thick it was like being in the darkest night no matter what time of day it was. Ryvin nodded to the guy standing by the door waiting to close it after he jumped. Triple, checking that his pack was secure, he took the plunge and waved as he free fell for a few feet. Flipping and spreading his arms and legs, he slowed his descent. When he was at the proper height, he pulled the cord, grunting as his body jerked in its harness. Maneuvering himself into place, he touched down gently in the center of the clearing, running a few paces to gain momentum control. After securing his parachute in a pouch, Ryvin set off towards the ruins. His pace was steady and he would be there within three hours.

Toadie
Well, now she’d done it. Ash was already starting to regret the decision to call out her teacher. But really, she was a mage. You could do almost anything with a spell. Why did she have to do manual labor? Washing dishes by hand was not on her to do list. But neither was cleaning out the animal pens in the barn. Now she was tasked with doing both daily until the end of term. Note to self, do not call the wart faced gamekeeper “Toadie” to her face. Especially in front of the entire school.

The Orb
Snow crunched under Aiden’s feet as he struggled ahead. Winter blew in with force months ago, after something had fallen from space. He approached a crater with a shiny orb in its center. The orb appeared to be glowing red, as if it had absorbed the heat from the land. When he approached, the orb shot into the air, then disappeared into the sky. Once it left, there was a noticeable change in the temperature. Aiden, having completed his task, set off back towards his home to share his story and wonder about the orb.

The Valley of Dragons
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. In fact, the valley was a wasteland until they arrived ten years ago. No one knew where they came from. One day, they just appeared and the next, the valley was turned into an oasis. There was a large lake with a waterfall near the far end. The middle was lush grass and forests. There were about twenty dragons living there.
