Forlorn
She felt an emptiness lurking beneath the surface. A nauseating, unwavering shiver settled in her heart. The darkened thoughts weighed heavy in her mind, chained to the fabric of her being, they could not dissipate. It grew unbridled, consuming all that she was. She felt a chill as the waves washed over her feet. The tide was coming in and the wind that accompanied it brought a slight comfort to her. She peered into the vast darkness that laid before her as she perambulated the water. She met the waves icy embrace with open arms. She breathed a sigh of relief. The emptiness that had engulfed her began to subside as the waves drifted her deeper into the darkness.

The Package
Chrissy immediately regretted going for her morning jog. The sky was clear allowing the sun to bare down its full intensity onto her skin. It didn't take long before she decided she was done with this excruciating mess and made her way back home.
