We start our week 6 picks with a game where two teams will be exposed. The Steelers, sitting at 4-0, are off to a great start with Big Ben back under center. But if you look a bit deeper at that 4-0, you see that all four wins were against bad teams, and all four were close. I know, any given Sunday, these are professionals, blah blah. But I'm not buying the Steelers at all. This is the week they get exposed; by the end of the year this team will be fighting just to make the post season. The Browns, on the other hand, will be exposed for what they now are; a legit playoff contender. There are weapons everywhere; once Chubb returns this is the best 1-2 RB punch in football; reminds me of the Earnst Byner/Kevin Mack tandem in the 80s. Cleveland won't just beat the Steelers; this will be a double digit victory.
1. Green Bay Packers (4-0) Bye Week In a week where a number of top teams had their weaknesses on display, the Packers got to sit back and heal with a well timed early bye week and look strong going into Tampa.
My Wisconsin Badgers start playing football in a couple of weeks here. I'm excited; this is Wisconsin. We love us some football. Sunday is the holy day 8 months of the year around here because we go to church... 4-5 months out of the year it's because the Packers play. And no, that's not heresy. God is also a cheesehead.
As we discovered in our list of the coolest football helmet designs you've never seen... You'll find it right next to this article.... there is a flip side to that coin. While there are some helmet designs, especially as you filter your way down to some of the smaller schools and arena leagues.... more so if you take the time to look back in time... that are absolute works of art, there are also some that fall on the other end of the spectrum.
So in the course of putting together our weekly power rankings with my kids, I have learned that the helmet... a safety feature we all kind of just take for granted can, in the right circumstances, be a form of art.
We all have our favorite tea, and with that come team colors. Some of us are lucky enough to have teams who's color scheme is cool; the black and silver of thee Raiders has always made for cool hats and shirts.
It's hard to tell what constitutes a good scary movie today. Now that technology has caught up with out imaginations, we can produce nearly any visual we choose, be it dinosaurs, on screen amputations, or whatever that jerky thing they do in The Ring and The Grudge is called.
