She
Not judging a book by its cover, as we are often told is an arduous act as one’s facade can be highly pristine, making transparency through correspondence unattainable. If you looked at this woman who graces you with a smile and the most delightful personality, you wouldn’t see the struggle, grief, and pain that lay beyond her eyes. Some people never escape a life of dismay. They become numb to their perils and accept the hand dealt to them. And some make it through the horror, become more robust, and leave the life of treachery behind them. She was a beautiful rose that grew through the strongest of concrete.

2020 Holiday Season
Well, it looks like Covid-19 is going to take another holiday hostage and our kids will be cheated yet again this Halloween. In our house; Halloween is one of our most favorite holidays. My husband and I grew up a block away from one another and as kids are neighborhood was flooded with kids, I’m talking a small neighborhood with over a thousand kids frolicking. My mom, her friends, their kids, and I would all go trick or treating together. We would then go back to our house, my mom would lay a sheet down on our living room floor and we would all dump our candy on the floor while my moms and her friends were probably getting drunk somewhere in our house. One of the best parts was we all would trade candy with each other. I would literally trade everything I had for Reece’s peanut butter cups. My mom also decorated the house amazingly. Every kid had to see the “good witches house” a name she accumulated over the years. I can vividly remember Halloween in our neighborhood like it was yesterday.

My Brother
It is safe to say that most people worldwide have fallen victim to drug addiction, whether it be themselves or someone they cared about. Studies done by the Center For Disease Control and National Center for Health Statistics state in 2018, 67,300 Americans died from a drug-related overdose. I wonder what the statistics will be after studies are done in 2021 regarding our current crisis. More have lost jobs, homes, loved ones leading more towards depression and drugs to ease their pain.

The Days are Long but the Years are Short.
I'm not sure when exactly it happens or specifically remember when the transition happened but why do our kids especially my little boys, need to grow up so fast? Someone once told me when my kids were little: "The days are long, but the years are short." That quote resonated through me and actually made my arm hairs stand up. I didn't know why at the time I was so moved by those words, but now looking back, I get it.

An Open Letter to all the Karens at the Dog Park.
Dear dog owner and fellow dog park attendees, For some of you, this is your first time owning a dog making it your first baby. I understand your concerns and apprehensions while your dog visits a park as it's new to you; however, some of you have been coming here for years and aggrivate the crap out of me. With this said, before even entering a dog park, you should make yourself aware of dogs' behaviors before screaming like a wild hyena's making me contimplate throat punching you.

2020, The Year Known as the abolishment of Two-Income Households
My family and I reside in Westchester County, New York. One of the most expensive counties in the United States has never been easy for any middle-class family such as mine. Most households rely on both parents working full time so they can provide for their families. In recent years, more than half of American households with two parents are working full time have doubled from 1960-2000. Most families have found that there must be a balance of household chores between both parents due to both being employed full time. You won’t find many households that a wife had hot coffee and breakfast along with the mornings’ newspaper waiting for you at the kitchen table before you left for work. Then her day would consist of tending to the children and household chores. By the time her husband came home after a hard day’s work and welcomed home with a delicious home-cooked meal.
