Floating Through Time
It was a cold, snowy day when I had my first time traveling experience. I was sitting in my grandmother’s living room, bored. I had never really believed in magic or any sort of mysteries of the universe. If time traveling were real, it wouldn’t be for many many years, until a scientist created it. I was firm in my beliefs. There were no alternate realities or dimensions, no portals to other places. All we have, all that is important, is the here and the now.

Feather in the Wind
I’ve always been fascinated by feathers. The way they float to the ground, slowly and gracefully, easily affected by wind, but never interrupted in their pattern of remarkable beauty. Each one so unique, connected to something that you may never get to witness in its full form. Finding a feather has always been so symbolic for me, representative of some force greater than that of any human, guiding us along our individual paths in a very interconnected way. There is a sense of magic when you find a feather, especially when it is of a rare species, color, size, or texture. They always have a way of finding you at just the right time, in just the right place, reminding you that you are never alone.

Freedom in Frame
After enduring the harshness of reality, I found myself yearning for the feeling of being free, the feeling of fleeing from my stoic stance on the hard surfaces of Mother Earth. Attached by a rope and twine umbilical cord, her invisible pull was strong and steady but it never left me enough space to leap up into the heavens. Into the galaxies beyond her reach. Or anywhere beyond her protective bubble for that matter. But the desire within me never ceased. I longed for that leap for years.
