Grandmas
To my Maternal and Paternal Grandmothers, You were both very different like night and day, but my long talks with the both of you, gave me balance in my life and taught me how to be a real woman. I learned how to become a virtuous woman, the strong values associated with being a mother and a wife as well as an independent woman. Thank you grandmas for representing what a women can be through hard work and self-preservation.

The Signal
It was a sunny fall day in October 1923, an automobile chugs down a dirt road moving at a steady pace. At the same time a horse driven coach is headed towards the automobile from the right side. The automobile and the horse drawn coach collide causing a horrible accident at a corner intersection. At the intersection the horse is killed instantly, the car is damaged and it won’t crank, the carriage is turned over and people are injured, and stuff from the coach is scattered across the road. It took days to clean up after the accident. A witness to this accident was greatly grieved and very upset, he decided something had to be done. He pondered over the accident and why it happened and how this tragedy could not happen again.

The Pandemic Shopaholic
It was February 2020, I was told to pack up of my classroom and my students and to vacate the premises until further notice, we are experiencing a pandemic and the state of Georgia has been shut down for 30 days. I immediately thought is this the end I went straight to the grocery store and stocked up on supplies and necessities. When covid-19 was at its peak of contagious spread and there was very little information on the virus and the effects, all stores were shut down except the grocery stores, so I went crazy shopping for supplies and essentials on line. I also had extra time on my on my hands because I was out of work, so I incorporated a workout regimen in my daily routine. I was exercising at least 3 times a week, riding my bike, walking, using my exercise equipment and watching my diet. Well with all my hard work I lost 40lbs and I lost my mind shopping, let me give you a journey of my shopping anxiety.
