Not a Poop
"It's a poop, isn't it? It better not be a poop." Gus is in his doorway, staring at the bag on the porch, a brown paper bag. Not a large grocery bag, or the kind fancy brunch places use as doggie bags. Just a lunch bag. The kind you fill with poop and leave on someone's porch.

Streaming Concierge
I've always loved movies. Growing up, movie theaters were my church. I worshipped at the altars of Lucas and Spielberg, Scorsese and Coppola, Altman and Ashby. As soon as I was old enough, I got my first job at Victor Video, an independent video store in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. From when I started at 15 until I left four years later, I used our vast library of VHS tapes to develop my own film school curriculum.

The Tell-Tale Heart-Shaped Locket Thingie
As we patrol along Edenhurst, the early evening silence is unnerving. Not just to me, who'd lived in Atwater Village. The crew is on tenters, like they can hear echoes of what the street had once been, before everyone was relocated. Not just the families that built this neighborhood after the war, but even gentrifiers like me -- if moving from Frogtown to Toonerville is gentrification.
