Tyler tried to regulate his breathing as he hid behind the old truck that was located inside of a creaking, old shed. Craning his neck to one side, he slowly attempted to see if he had been followed. His heart beat loudly in his chest before he fell back down into a crouched position, butterflies swarming his stomach when he saw nobody there.

New Year, New Priorities!
What can I say about the last two years that no one already knows? 2020 was a mess that we’re still dealing with while 2021 was a blur of disappointment, so, how should one treat this New Year? Should we press on with a negative or bleak outlook? Or should we have an open mind and try for a fresh start?

Many years ago—or in 2007—I had just gotten my hands on the latest Harry Potter book and immediately dove in. It had everything I was looking for: action, adventure, fantasy, romance and, most importantly, a top notch resolution. Sure, was I one of those people who thought Harry was going to die in the end?

The Red Lady
She didn’t know what she was doing anymore. That much was certain. As she swirled her spoon in the dark drink, Amber stared blankly at the glass cup, her eyes barely blinking the deeper she lost herself in the liquid of her thoughts. Sinking into her worn and cushioned seat, she swallowed hard and tried to even out her breathing when she felt her vision begin to sting and water.
