Bio
I'm a Scotsman living on the North East Coast looking out over the North Sea. I act and write and do a bit of voice work but am best known for my battle with my neighbour over the destruction of a 'protected site' to build a golf course.

What the...
I have thought long and hard about whether or not I should get into this discussion about the recent attack on the Capitol Building in Washington USA. I am not the best placed person to discuss US politics by a long way even though I do have personal history with the individual called Donald Trump who is currently, although not for much longer, the 45th President of the USA. The photograph above is taken from my TV screen on the night of the 6th of January 2021, 14 days before the inauguration of the next President of the USA.

Back to work!!
The desk beckons as we all head back to work again today, the 5th of January 2021, except we can't. Why not? Well here in Scotland we are in Lockdown again from midnight last night, so we can only go to work if we absolutely cannot do it from home, other wise the rule is simple, stay at home. So what does that mean for us all? Well the simple and obvious answer is that the desk in my home office, above, is going to be my base again until we are told other wise. In the longer and wider picture it means hardship and problems for many as businesses struggle with no or limited income, adults struggle with children and no child care, in some cases hardship with difficulty to feed the children due to no wages or support, or at least delayed support in some cases.

Today!
Today is special, it's the first day of the rest of your life. Ohh is that all? I hear you ask. Yes, that is all but it is incredibly important as well, after all if that wasn't the case then there would be no pont being awake now would there? You wouldn't be able yo go for that cup of coffee or slice of cake. You would be stuck with no ability to taste, or feel. That stroke of skin or fur of a loved one wouldn't happen and would mean absolutely nothing to you, because 'you' wouldn't be here.
