I am a quirky, passionate, and fun-loving small business owner & creator. I am an avid animal lover, and mama of two perfect pitties. I love to travel and explore new cultures, and was even married in Italy to my wonderful husband.
Perfecting the Art of the Playlist
What does it actually mean to be zen? We use the term “Zen” as a slang word, referring to a state of peacefulness and relaxation; not a care in the world.
I Just Wanted a Glass of Wine, Hold the Stalker Vibes
It was a Friday night in September, and I was just getting off a long day of work, at the barber shop. I was covered in other people's hair, and exhausted in every way, shape and form from standing on my feet and listening to strangers problems for eight hours straight. All I wanted to do was put on some sweats, open a bottle of wine, and snuggle up on the couch with my pup, while watching The Golden Girls.
Dressed to Impress
It was the summer of Abercrombie and Fitch, ironic trucker hats, over-sized sunglasses, and Paris Hilton...and I was about to start my Freshman year of high school. I had begged and pleaded with my parents all summer to let me attend public school- promising to attend youth group meetings every Sunday, in exchange for a chance to never have to wear a uniform or follow a frumpy dress code ever again. Not to mention, my two best friends, Zoë and Olivia, were in public school and I desperately wanted to be in the same school as them.
It was mid-October in Michigan, and I was visiting my family from South Carolina. I hadn’t been home in awhile, and my youngest brother, Max’s, 13th birthday was coming up. My mom and I were sitting in the living room, with a glass of wine, trying to come up with a fun surprise for a 13 year old boy.
Who rescued who?
To say that I’m an animal lover would be a drastic understatement. Growing up in a large family, the oldest of five kids, meant our house always felt a bit like a zoo. Add in our bunnies, kittens, and rescue pups- and we probably could have charged admission. I don’t remember a time in my adolescence where we didn’t have at least one loveable fur baby to dote on.
