My First Camping Trip with My Man
Camping with my fiancee had been a dream of mine ever since we started dating. All I wanted was a romantic weekend alone with him and the outdoor and I was so happy when he decided that it was finally about time that we go.*** I may have to add for importance that this was his first ever actual camping trip, so the pressure was on! ***
Lobster and Chocolate Liqueur
On this particular date, my birthday had just passed and my fiancé and I were celebrating. He took me into Norman, Oklahoma to eat Red Lobster, shop, and just have fun. We had gotten into town right about the time that Red Lobster opened, so that was awesome. I hate being in crowded restaurants. So we are seated and I ordered, for the first time in my life, lobster and shrimp. I had never had a whole lobster before so I was excited! The waiter then took our menus and we were left to sit in romantic lighting, talking and stuffing our faces with delicious biscuits. I picked up the alcohol pamphlet they leave at your table and I was really studying when our waiter came, and he asked us if we wanted an alcoholic beverage to go with our dinner. I'm all like "eh, why not?" And I guess I forgot what I ordered...I have no idea why in the world I would do such a thing, but I did it. I ordered a freaking mudslide; chocolate liqueur and kaluha. It looked so yummy on the paper...but I was wrong. So, so dumb.
Bride of the Baykok
The flowers danced in the prairie meadow and the surrounding trees reaches and stretched their arms toward the sky as I walked toward camp with my basket of berries and nuts I had gathered for Old Mother. The summer wind played with my braids and I giggled as my loose baby hairs tickled at my neck. I sucked in a great deep breath of air. The bouquet of the nearby river, flowers, berries, the sun and the prairie grass was beautiful. The birds make happy music and I have even spotted mother deer and a fawn. It was all beautiful, I love summer.
Missing My Childhood
As an adult who works and sleeps and basically does nothing else, I have come to the conclusion, at 24, that "adulting" sucks, and I want my money back. If only it were that easy!! I would love to go back in time when life was simple and the worst part of my day was a nap. I miss and mourn my childhood every day I have to wake up to an alarm and get ready for another day.
How To Tell If He Really Loves You
Sometimes in a relationship it is hard to know what your partner's intentions are. Self-image and loneliness and self-esteem are key points that keep people from seeing their partner for what they really are; they could be totally toxic or perfect Prince Charming. Sex is not enough to keep a relationship going, and if that seems to be all that your partner wants and they are not giving you any other signs of affection, that is a BIG red flag. Paying attention to these signs could give you an idea of what your partner really wants.
Nightmares and Demons
During the night sleep can be fleeting. a branch against a window and sound like witches fingernails, or the house settling can sound like ghoulish moans. being afraid of the dark is a primitive reaction, and most of the time our minds can churn out tons of logical explanations when things get weird.
Living Life with Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia. It is a common condition that is defined as "widespread muscle pain and tenderness." But anyone with a chronic pain disorder that was lucky enough to get thrown into the 'fibro' category will tell you; it is so much more than that.I have learned that fibromyalgia is not just one singular disorder. It is a place for doctors to put similar "symptomed" patients in so they have a name for it. There are hundreds and hundreds of autoimmune disorders. And the symptoms are so similar and so vast it is easier for them to assign one word. Symptoms vary by patient. I, for one, get chronic migraines, achy bones, sore muscles, fatigue, memory loss, heat sensitivity, brain fog, anxiety, depression and gerd. And so much more!
