The aquarium was no longer in the window. Instead, there was the silhouette of a man climbing through, reaching his hands towards the sleeping girl.

Famous Last Words (Part 1)
It occurred on the night of August 13th. A summer night filled with the sounds of crickets and tree frogs. The windows were difficult to open and close because of the humidity. The window A/C unit hummed away in the living room, unfortunately, the cold air did not make its way to the opposite side of the one-story home. Jocelyn and Julian would sleep with their box fans. They blew wildly during those nights but barely kept the sweat from rising on their skin as the humid nights of Florida summers continued with no reprieve.

For years I walked alone. Down the dark streets of neighborhoods that have fallen. Homes that once stood tall with lush green lawns and flowerbeds overflowing with colors. No longer are the insects that live from their nectar. Now they stand sullen and gray, even on the brightest of summer days.

Is There Such a Thing as The Creative Curse?
You’ve most likely heard the fable of the two wolves inside everyone. If not — let me summarize it for you. According to the “legend,” an old Cherokee grandfather is chatting with his grandson about life. He goes on to say he is fighting a battle within himself. He tells the boy, there are two wolves living inside of him. One wolf is evil, full of hatred, anger, greed, regret, pain, rage, and more. The other wolf is good, full of love, kindness, happiness, compassion, generosity — the list goes on and on.
