Resting His Eyes
I hate hospitals. Much like the police, if you have to be around one there’s a good chance something went wrong with your day. The muffled sound of forced quiet, the sharp pang of antiseptic to the nose, the incessant beeping of monitors and machines and nurse station call buttons. The drone of chatter among the staff that skids to a halt once you walk into their vicinity.

It's Been Years Since You've Been ThereTop Story - September 2023
Do you ever wonder what became of the people you once loved? The ones who loved you back but are gone now, swept away with the currents of time, dispersed into this world which is so big yet small enough that sometimes we find each other.

Dance Me to the End of Love
I went outside tonight to let the dog out and noticed the stars in the sky. The Milky Way was visible again, cutting a path from almost due south to north. Over time, the constellations take their places and creep across the night sky, until Orion is back and the Seven Sisters rise in the east again. Soon it will be Winter again. Already, the trees are beginning autumn's first blush. The night air is chilly and in the morning, you can see your breath.

Do You Remember What Brings You Joy?
When was the last time you remember doing something that brought you joy? I'm not talking about a ten second orgasm or getting blind drunk and dissociating for an afternoon. I'm talking about doing the kind of thing that would have made you smile until your face hurt or give you that tingling sense of wonder that made you feel light and look forward to the next time you got to do it. I think joy is something that brings us to a moment in time where we are completely aware of where we are and what is happening. I think a lot of other things, though fun, are more of a diversion than something that makes us joyful.

Looking Down from the Other Side
I'm at a weird place in my life today. A strange reprieve from the usual chaos, uncertainty, and loneliness. Today is a day I feel like I have reached the top of a summit and I am looking down the other side onto a green valley. My whole life I've always been looking at one side of this mountain, and now I'm seeing it from another viewpoint.

Still a RomanticTop Story - May 2023
Tonight I was thinking about the last few years and how I started my journey of divorce with a vague idea of what I wanted in a partner. I wanted someone who was kind, compassionate, comfortable with their sexuality, patient, trusting, supportive, intelligent, humble, and had an adventurous spirit. Pretty much all the things I was lacking in a partner. To some degree I hadn't seen all of in one person by then either.

Men's Guide to Being Irresistable
Men’s Guide to Being Irresistible to Women All straight single women in the dating world seem to lament the extinction of “nice guys”. First of all, men should take note. If you want to be like the douchebags and fuckboys, the pickup artists, the guys with a “system” where “negging” and harassing a woman into going home with you is your bag, this isn’t the place for you.
