Ani's Pedigree
A crack shattered the stormy night air as another tree ripped from the dirt. The lightning in the sky was only part of the cacophony echoing through the forest. Two dragons, one Red and the other White, were locked in battle, using whatever they could scavenge to give them an advantage. The tree flung from the Red’s mouth and slammed into the white’s side. Purple and yellow swelled from the impact. The White screamed into the night air, flecks of snow drifting from her mouth. A light blue glow radiated from her chest and crept up her throat.

Through the Absolute
Shadows bathed Joel as he slept on the faded red leather. Two seats made a perfect bed for one such as him. Joel blinked a few times, trying to adjust his eyes to the darkness; with the curtains drawn, there wasn’t a stitch of light within the train’s cabin. There was scarcely a vibration that made it past the soundproofing, but the constant feel of motion continued. In the room, separated from all else, Joel was in a world of his own, his dreams reminding him of times long lost.

The Forest of Souls
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. A flickering light cast out among the trees, bringing shadows to life. We know that the wood was unlit for a reason, the shadows unstirred by law.

Beneath the Dragon's Talon
Chapter 1-Welcome to Mandina There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. They came with the east wind on the twenty-second year of my reign. That day, the fiery vortex passed over the mountaintops in a swirling chaos of fire and death. The long wings of the dragons blotted out the sun, and that was the first day we knew we would have to join the world.
