NEKKID
I should have known there was something wrong when Casey Pryor asked me to go to prom. There really was several wrong parts to that; I had no idea that he even knew I existed and, even if he did, why me? Up until that day in High School I had been a pariah. Yes, hard to believe but being overweight in school (BTW ANY school- college was no different) is the worst social condition. Taunted, teased tortured made fun of. I dreaded Monday morning and I could not wait for Friday.

Clipping back time...
I KNEW there was a problem on the floor when I saw the supervisors go into the office and shut the door. I had been working for under a year at a busy 911 center and had graduated to the "info channel" where all transactions regarding warrants, tows, property and other official transactions took place. I was on my very last day of training proudly anticipating the moment I would take over the radio by myself.

The Dispatcher
The Dispatcher People are crabby today. Not sure if it is the water or the air, the Daytona 500 or the breath of spring which is smothered by the rainy damp. The room is buzzing with callers, officers and conversations I until the only sounds which can break through are the irritating giggles of this or that person or the nagging clanging bell which tells us we better get on ready for another call.
