At the time of Mac Miller’s untimely death, he was already deep into the recording of Circles; the now posthumously released album that acts as the follow-up to 2018’s Swimming. The two albums were intended to create a loosely drawn concept – Swimming in Circles – that reflects the deeply introspective nature of Miller’s lyrical content.

Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ will tell you what kind of a film viewer you are
Try and keep up. Tenet is a difficult film. Take the nonlinearity of Memento, the narrative layers of Inception and mix them with the futuristic technology of Interstellar and you’d still be several PhDs away from getting a grip on the complexity of this high-concept thriller. Even the ‘Tenet: Explained’ videos on YouTube seem to leave the most important questions unasked, and as soon as analysis of one plot point begins to cohere, it opens up gaping problems in another.

New Year, New Lockdown The beginning of a new year brings with it the promise of a fresh start. A chance to reflect on our shortcomings, diagnose any weaknesses in our character, and set up new goals and habits for the year ahead. Of course there is no real reason why January is a better moment to try and do this than any other time of the year. But the turning over of a new calendar seems to bring with it the expectation that things can and will change.
