The Pebble Collector
My name is Melanie, and I am a pebble collector. It's as simple as it sounds. My complete collection amounts to maybe enough to cover the bottom of a medium-sized fish aquarium. I would place them all into one but adopting fish would require a level of commitment that I am just not prepared to take-on at this stage in my life.

Martha's Quick End
Fifty miles west of Cody, Wyoming, Aylish Kelley sat atop of old Martha Bee as the two lumbered toward knob hill. A brisk afternoon wind funneled through the surrounding peaks of the Rattlesnake, Cedar, and Heart mountain ranges. Aylish and her longtime companion moved towards the rugged canyons outlining the Shoshone River. She focused ahead and breathed in deep unveiling a content smile on her weathered face. Bending forward, she patted the horse’s neck. Her movements flowed in perfect rhythm with old Martha Bee, as she and the animal had a unique understanding of each other’s frailties.

Have you ever smelled Las Vegas?
I have been feeling bored lately. And I have discovered that sitting around all day isn’t easy. Even the television seems to have been taken hostage by a virus, but this one is made up of political mumbo-jumbo that is as unpleasant as long nails raking across a chalkboard. Because I live in in Las Vegas, however, I have options. So, today, I will choose to take a drive downtown. As many of us have discovered experiencing the pandemic from our couches has been a touch unnerving these days, and there are times that one must roll the dice so-to-speak. So, I mask up, make sure I bring hand sanitizer and a little cash, and head to one of the places I enjoy best. First, let me tell you, I am head over heels in love with my town.
