Wrong Turn
My eyes opened, and my body felt stiff. I took a deep breath; I was relaxed. Once I sat up, something felt off—something wasn't right. I skimmed around the small room. From the position on my bed, I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. It was my room, the walls were still sage green with a hint of blue, and my anime posters and paintings still lined every corner of the room. So what was wrong?

Spread nothing but kindess this Valentine’s Day.
When Valentine’s Day came around, I would never really care for the holiday because I was lonely. I didn’t have anyone but my friends to celebrate this lovely day. Up until about six months ago, I thought I would be, once again, spending this day alone, but I have found myself a significant other that I do indeed plan on spending Valentine’s Day with.

We talk about it badly,
Inclusivity applies to so many different aspects of our lives and other people's lives. It factors into our ethnicity, age, sexuality, gender, abilities, and so much more. When we talk about inclusivity and kindness, it is best to start with it since it ties directly into empathy. Being inclusive creates a company.

There is a CHANCE that he's going to run away.
To be honest, I have been waiting to make this “joke” for so long, but now I have to explain the joke. My dog’s name is Chance. I don’t know who he was named after and why he was named after that thing or person. All I know is that my dad had named him, and after a few years of having Chance, my dad has left. He left our family behind, my sister, my mom, but the person, well animal, who was hurt the most by his departure was my dog. Chance was heartbroken. Of course, he didn’t come up to me and tell me that, but I could. We all could see it behind his cheery smile, the feelings of devastation. Chance gets so excited every time my dad visits and acts like a puppy again.

Depression and its ability to take over a young persons life.
I was one of the lucky ones, always have been, I wouldn’t call myself famous, but I would say that I was and still have a good amount of friends. Every day coming into school and just trying my best to make everyone happy. I knew I couldn't do it all, but I insisted. I had to be the best at everything. Everything. I run track, do all extracurricular activities, and try to be friends with everyone.

Get a load of this monster.
The nights were long and cold. Samantha spent many days and nights asking herself what she had done wrong or what she could have done differently. The days grew short, and the nights grew long. She stopped going to school and work. Samantha spent all of her time fixing up what little space she had in the barn. Being kicked out of her dad's house wasn't even the worst part of her journey. She had gotten kicked out because of her new stepmom, Katie. The worst part of her journey was losing all of her close friends and family members. She especially missed her sweet, caring, and compassionate mother.
