The small fire danced telling stories in the shadows among the cave walls. A strong woman's blue eyes shimmered as she stared in deep thought. Her dark frizzy hair was kept together in a tight braid, but it, like rest of her, would never be completely contained. The night had been calm, but the nip of the air drew her to the flame. Licking at her bare body she paid no mind. Listening, hearing nothing but the crackling, and the hooting of a distant owl. She could feel something was coming, just on the horizon…change.

To The Toughest Woman I know
Dear Meme, It has been almost five years since the last time we saw you. Yet, when asked to write to the toughest woman we know, the only one that popped in my mind was you. There are a lot of things that could describe you; stubborn, scary, independent, but above all I would describe you as strong. To your last breath you fought.

They Know
The red wall had black flakes. Teagan Davis sat, elbows pressing into her knees. The room - frozen in chaos. The couch she sat on was askew, glass shattered laying throughout the room, picture frames fallen and cracked, a little black notebook splayed out amongst the clutter, just out of sight. Money strewn on the floor of the kitchen in the other room.
