What if you didnt have a brain
you can't do much of anything at all without your brain, and you need it for a lot of things. Thus, is a "no-brainer" indeed a thing in the literal sense? Let's start with the beheading of the no-header. I realize this is a macabre topic, but what exactly is the issue? Are you a fowl? Right, good. Since Mike most definitely was. Farmer Lloyd Olsen went outside in 1945 to get a chicken for supper. The chicken did not perish when he chopped off its head. Another eighteen months passed for Mike the Headless Chicken. He shocked observers as he traveled the nation. He was fed by shoving small drips of water or pieces of grain down his throat, and he was able to walk and perch. Here's the problem, though. Milos It wasn't obvious what to do, but the Headless Chicken still had part of his brain stem in addition to what would be considered a "head." To get a more straightforward answer, we need to examine a much more basic organism: the cockroach. These guys are alright without a head because they don't even breathe through them. Rather, their bodies are covered in openings that allow them to breathe. A cockroach may live for weeks without a head and even after being entirely decapitated because they contain small bundles of nerves called ganglia throughout their body rather than a large, brain. It is able to move and react to movements. The only real issue is that it will eventually starve to death if it loses its head. Not quite as fortunate are we humans. If we were without a head and brain, we would certainly perish quickly. But before you become jealous, remember that even while our skulls are still intact, we still have reflexes that allow us to perform some tasks that don't always require the brain. A finger snapping motion occurs at a speed of roughly 20 mph. A powerful sneeze can also release air at speeds of around 30 to 40 mph. However, nerve impulses happen very quickly. They are capable of 250 mph, but sometimes even that isn't quick enough. For example, cells are dying fast if you accidently place your hand on a hot stove. And 250 miles per hour is insufficient; you must act quickly. Notifying your brain of what's happening immediately is not worth the effort. As a result, other nervous system components serve as a mediator in your first pull-away response. For unconscious and involuntary processes, the same holds true. Therefore, these reflexive, unconscious, or unconscious activities could be categorized as no-brainers in a certain sense. However, since they still depend on your brain to keep you alive, I'm not completely content. What would happen if you were dead? Your muscle cells do, however, still hold some energy in the form of ATP in your dead, brainless body. Backyard Brains, right here on YouTube, illustrates this using pieces of insects. Although this leg is no longer attached to the body or the brain, the cells still contain energy. Therefore, whether the leg is touched or even just breathed on, researchers are able to pick up electrical impulses. "Whoa, that popping sound you're hearing is the spontaneous discharge rate of the living neurons in the still-living leg." A human limb's muscle cells would react exactly the same manner. However, cables are not necessary to see this kind of behavior. Salt works similarly well. Sodium ions have the ability to initiate a process that resembles an action-potential in a live creature. These young frog legs dance when salt is applied, but only momentarily. Eventually, the cells will either run out of energy or start to degrade. However, there are undoubtedly a plethora of other worthy contenders in the last minute. For example, a person may soil themself as a result of their muscles relaxing. Precisely, it makes sense. However, the myth that a body keeps growing hair and fingernails is untrue. Rather, as the skin dries, it actually shrinks, giving the appearance of longer hair and nails. However, let's examine these skin cells in more detail as we may have found a very good answer. Your skin cells are peripheral to the rest of your body, meaning they don't need blood to supply them with fresh nutrients all the time. As a result, your skin cells can carry on for days after you pass away and your brain stops functioning. They do this by absorbing nutrients by osmosis and proliferating. After a day, it is possible to extract skin cells from a dead body. Speaking of which, digestion. Yes, the fact that you are alive and have a functional nervous system helps to accomplish a large portion of the digestion process. But bacteria that just so happen to reside in your stomach carry out some of the work. And they'll keep eating even after you're gone or your brain fails. Making poop, then, is somewhat of a no-brainer—at least in that phase. Here's the problem, though. The germs that inhabit your body are not native to you. You, are they? What about the skin cells that have the ability to carry on after death? Are they really you, or are they just cells that you've provided a comfortable home for? We are essentially questioning if you are just your brain and everything that happens when you lose your brain is just other stuff that you aren't doing, which is where we get philosophical. One may contend that your body no longer has your intentions if it were devoid of a brain. It no longer acts in accordance with your decisions. Put differently, you might not be able to complete a no-brainer because it doesn't involve you. In a sense, being alive and being you are a yes-brainer if all that remains of you is what your brain does and not what your cells do on their own when the brain dies. Real-life horror stories, part 1
when i was in middle school my parents let me walk home from school because we lived really close by they would of course give me a ride if it was raining or freezing out but for the majority of the year i would follow the same short path home each day without incident one fall day i was walking out of school and passing the rows of buses waiting to pick up kids then i passed the carpool line with parents waiting for the kids to come out to the car most kids either walked to school or rode the bus so the carpool line was always pretty short in fact i knew which cars belonged to which families and would always wave to the parents as i walked by it was a small town and everyone tended to know everyone else that day i remember seeing a car i didn't recognize in the carpool line it was black with windows that were so tinted i couldn't tell who was driving i couldn't even tell if it was a man or a woman i shrugged it off assuming maybe it was just a family member from out of town that was picking someone up i continued walking and eventually made it off school property and onto the paved path that led to my neighborhood there weren't many cars around that day and things were pretty quiet i looked ahead and noticed that there was a black car parked a short distance ahead of me right along the path it looked a lot like the car i had seen in the carpool line but i couldn't be sure i remember thinking it was weird because it would be blocking traffic if a car came down the street for some reason i felt a little bit uncomfortable and even considered crossing to the other side of the street but the path i was on was the most efficient and i wanted to get home as fast as possible when i approached the car i looked straight ahead and pretended not to notice it quickening my pace but just as i was passing the vehicle i could hear the window roll down and a man's voice call out to me i turned to look and it was an older man who i didn't recognize he had a black hat on and a black trench coat something about him made me feel even more uneasy he told me that his name was phil and that something had happened to my dad he said that my mom had asked him to go pick me up from school and take me to the hospital and that's why he was waiting in the carpool line i immediately knew that something was off if anything had happened to my dad i knew my mom would never send someone i had never met to pick me up i had plenty of other family members that they would call first i told the man that i thought he had the wrong person and began to walk away but he persisted telling me that he was sure i was the girl he was looking for at this point i was really creeped out so i just began to walk away heading towards my house at a quick pace After hearing a door open behind me, I turned to see that the man was chasing after me. I started running as fast as I could in the hopes that the trees would hide me from him, but he was catching up quickly, so I had to throw him off. When I got to my house, I looked around but couldn't see him, so I locked the doors behind me. I told my parents about him and they filed a police report, but it has been years and they haven't found him.

ways to move past errors
More than 400 people were recruited for a 2019 study to learn an enigmatic, made-up language. Three pairs of runes were given to the participants to answer. For instance, which of these two characters symbolizes an animal? They were then questioned about the same rune pairs with questions reversed, such as which of these two runes denotes a non-living object, following a brief intermission. There was a catch to this game, though: the meanings of the runes in round two were decided by the respondents' responses in round one. During the first round, participants were either required to fail every question, or had all of their responses marked as accurate regardless of what they answered. This ensured that each player got the same amount of information at the break, and that in round two, they were actually playing.

kidnapped by aleins
I got kidnapped by aliens do you I got kidnapped by aliens and do you believe aliens exist because I didn't but then one day when I was walking home from school I got kidnapped by them want to hear about what they did when they took me and how everyone reacted when I came back okay I'll tell you and just remember they are out there it started as an ordinary day I was bored senseless in our recent new teacher Mr Ripley's science class he kept going on and on about what a life year was but all I heard was something about vacuums and a guy called Julian I thought who even cares about this stuff but it was okay because my bestie Elliott and I intended to use the time to go through an outfit Elliot was putting together for this really cool party we were going to he wants to be a stylist you see sometimes I feel like I just blend in with everything and my clothes and style are just well ordinary know what I mean and I really wanted to impress this boy that was going and make him notice me the only thing that was weird that day was that Super Geek Paul who Elliot really fancied was really quiet and usually he got all excited talking with Mr Ripley about science so to the aliens I was walking home from school when suddenly this Spotlight Shone on me I looked up and I could see this cigar-like shape just hovering with no sound and then I started to lift off the ground up and up I went and the weird thing was that I didn't feel scared at all I felt safe and inside looked so much bigger than the outside you know like a tardis there was a whole science lab going on in there sorry I can't show you much you know NASA rules and all oh I'm guessing you want to know what the aliens look like right well for starters you know the stereotypical alien we all see that is green with the big eyes and the long arms wrong yep they aren't green they are like transparent but also there like a chameleon that blends into the background and they seemed like they were all exactly the same height and much shorter than me and I'm 5'4 really wish Mr Ripley had been there he'd have loved all of this so what did they do to me well this one alien who I kind of could see even though he was kind of transparent he had an outline like a cartoon anyway they didn't say anything to me but stood in front of me for ages I thought is he reading my mind or something I never said a word but they just stood there staring at my brain I don't know how long it was for because there were no clocks but it felt like well over an hour I had no idea then they hovered this long silver thing over the back of my arm it was a bit like a spoon the next minute I was back floating to the ground in the Spotlight as soon as I landed on the ground the spotlight disappeared and the spaceship was gone I stood alone on the street for a moment I thought did that really just happen and I couldn't see anyone around so I raced home to tell my mom and my older brother Tyrell I told them how aliens had beamed me up and then experimented on me but I could instantly tell they didn't believe me mom said I should take a break from studying and Tyrell said that finally this was proof what he's been saying all along that I'm insane but I said it was true and that they used this weird Silver Spoon thing on my arm I realized that I had this mark on my arm that definitely wasn't there before but Mom was Furious as she thought I got a tattoo and Tyrell asked why I had to be a drama queen all the time but I insisted my alien story was true so much so that the next day Mom took me to the doctor's the doctor examined it but then stumbled over their words and said it was likely a reaction to a plant but I could tell they had no idea what it was that's when things got really bad I was minding my own business telling Elliot how I was kidnapped by aliens when this bully type Davies pointed out my mark and told the whole class I hadn't washed so Elliot immediately tells them no actually she was kidnapped by aliens well you can only imagine what went down next everybody wanted to know all about it and whilst the whole class laughed their heads off Mr Ripley didn't confirm or deny whether he believed me or not I thought no one believed me but then that evening the craziest thing happened NASA that's right NASA showed up at our door said that Mr Ripley had tipped them off as he was concerned I was like did he believe me anyway they said they were testing my brain waves and they took loads of scans and photos of my arm but they too kept stumbling over their words and told me it was likely that I had simply fallen asleep and it was a dream and something like trash was on the ground and burned into me as it was hot I mean what I could tell she didn't know and so was my life I was known as the freaky alien girl people would walk past and do Spock's Vulcan sign or shout out I am Tai and laugh weirdly though Davies stopped picking on me about it and suddenly started to be quiet and not really say anything to anyone I was relieved and Mr Ripley was all over me asking me how I was feeling and if I'd seen the aliens again but the worst thing was was that I was uninvited to the cool party then I realized it was probably just as well as my crush joined in laughing at me with everyone else and the thing is in all of this I kept thinking but it's all true I did get kidnapped by aliens I had to do something I had to make everyone believe me but how I even went back to where the aliens had taken me I shouted why take me and leave me with all this mess but no one responded weirdly I did see Elliot's nerdy Crush Paul and I thought he saw me but he must not have and it all came to head in assembly it felt like everyone was looking at me I thought aliens now this is a good time for a kidnap but no and to make it worse Mr Ripley took assembly and went on about how everyone should be open to the possibility that there could be more life than just Earth then someone shouted out for me to tell my alien story and everyone joined in to get me to do it even though Mr Ripley told everyone to pipe down and no I wasn't doing that some people started booing me and I saw red I stormed onto the stage and Mr Ripley looked well shocked and didn't know what to say but I did I held up my alien marked arm and told them that I was proud of it because out of everyone in the whole world the aliens picked me I told them that Mr Ripley was right there is more out there than what we see technology that we would never comprehend even the most clever Mena people and top scientists like Elon Musk then someone heckled me and said Elon Musk wasn't a scientist and I said that's not the point I said how the government have even released footage of supposed aliens there is this one where literally a pilot is all like I don't know what this is look it up online and don't forget people see aliens all the time all over the world there has to be some truth in it I am proof that aliens exist and I shouted out so who is with me who believes [Music] However, in all honesty, the audience wasn't quite as enthusiastic as I had thought; instead of cheering or jeering or saying anything, they only kind of gazed at me. Mr. Ripley applauded, but quickly realized he was the only one, so he stopped. Thinking there was nothing more he could do to prove he was abducted by aliens, I believed that was it. But then the most incredible thing happened: Paul got up, rolled up his sleeve, and revealed the same Mark as mine. I believe it was the global record for the most gasps, but that's just my narrative. Everyone gasped. Paul said, "I believe because I was kidnapped by aliens too, so it's no wonder he'd gone all quiet." Then, you won't believe what happened when Davey stood up, rolled up his sleeve, and showed the same Mark. He then said, "I believe as I've been kidnapped by aliens too, so it's no wonder he stopped picking on me." Three more people then stood up and showed their arms, and a teacher—well, Mr. Ripley fainted—also stood up and revealed that they daren say anything after they saw my reaction.
