The Big Sick
I saw The Big Sick on Saturday after waiting for what seemed an extremely long time given I first started hearing about it in the spring. This leading man vehicle for Kumail Nanjiani was produced by Judd Apatow, a seemingly omnipresent figure in the comedy world. It also starred Zoe Kazan, Holly Hunter, Ray Romano, Adeel Akhtar, and Anupam Kher.

Okja: A Review
From the very first moment that Lucy Mirando (the incomparable chameleon that is Tilda Swinton) started down the stairs of the building that her grandfather had owned in her 6 inch pumps, bleach blonde bob, hot pink lipstick, and for an added quirk –– braces, you knew that "Okja" was going to be good.

Review: Shimmer Lake
So, I recently watched Shimmer Lake, a Netflix original drama/comedy. When the trailers for the film came out earlier this summer I was immediately intrigued. The film featured a cast of typically comedic actors such as Rainn Wilson, Adam Pally, Ron Livingston and John Mitchell Higgins. I was pretty sure that the film would be more "Fargo" - like, a dark comedy with a quirky bunch of characters. This is not necessarily the end result of Shimmer Lake.
