Minimalism
Imma tell you right now; this tale wont be fancy, it wont be cute. Its full of angst and anxiety. I moved in with my boyfriend, oh excuse me "partner" is that better? A year and half ago. When my daughter and I moved in we had a car full of stuff and that is it. Partly due to extreme circumstances but mostly because I am ok not having a lot of stuff. Good thing since my...ahem...partner is the opposite.

Jeans, LBD and Wilfred.
If there is a thrift store in town, you can count on seeing me there whenever possible. Goodwill as a child was, to say the least am undesirable place to be. My parents got divorced when my brother and I were young. We stayed with dad through the week, he was the more stable one, on disability so it was an easy choice for my mom and him. What comes with disability is no money. Food Stamps, back when they came in a booklet, they never ripped off on the dotted seam as well as they should have. Along with, Medicare which was free health insurance and dentist visits for me and my brother! I guess looking back it was a good thing we got care, albeit not the best. Lastly, THRIFT STORES. I remember walking in to some and the overwhelming smell of must and tiredness. All things just sitting there untouched for however long it took 8 layers of dust to gather. Goodwill, back then was one of the better ones, if I could possibly put a positive spin on them. Goodwill was organized compared to the local thrift stores. Local was 30 minutes away though! Picking out clothes you were expected to wear to school that looked like they had been played in for years was not my idea of fun. After a while I realized I wasn’t going to get new stuff so if I wanted anything at all I was going to have to muster up the courage and then swallow my pride. Moving the tops one by one while conspicuously looking around in hopes I wouldn’t see someone I know.

The Last First date
Both widowed for some time now, Richard and Lauren had been getting to know each other really well since the beginning of the pandemic. Richard had been residing at 3102 Brightside assisted living community since 2014 when his wife of 46 years passed. Lauren hadn't been there that long, but it was becoming more comfortable, especially since finding a true friend in Richard.

My Fosters
My heart had not been full since making the hardest decision and giving up my dog. Had I know I would be moving in with my boyfriend only a month into the future I would have been able to keep him. I still know it was the right decision and am okay, especially since I get to see him on Facebook all the time, his new dad is great and shares his journeys daily!

Ruby Bridges
In the short time I was working at An alternative school for children who have behavioral issues, I found myself intrigued and enamored with History class during Martin Luther King Week. No this isn’t another paper about him! One person the teacher did focus on was Ruby Bridges. The first black American to desegregate the white schools! Who is still alive today! And beyond being alive is an activist and is a motivational speaker amongst other things.

Shondaland
Shondaland If you have seen anything Shonda has done, watch another one she has done and then another. I write this in complete confidence that Bridgerton will be amazing. I have not watched this yet but plan to promptly after putting my lap top away for the night, choose my tv eats and hit play!

Aquarius
Astrology has been in my life it's more of an interest than a path to follow. Although my interest in it probably stems from me being an Aquarius to a tee! It maybe suggestible, I mean, horoscopes, come on! So vague, right! You could probably relate to your daily horoscope if you think outside the box. Thinking outside the box! That's me! Not so much coming up with great new ideas or inventions but more like I don't want to be in the box EVER. If it's a fad I automatically hate it. I may even rebel too much when it comes to the things people do or say. It totally makes sense that Uranus my modern ruling planet spins clockwise, which is not like most other planets I too spin while standing still. I am in the in fact the epitome of a paradox.

A Contest
“Did you see it?” “See what?” “The flyer on the board.” Maria flicked her head towards the board, it was break and she was more than comfortable. Stretched out collapsed in the blue plastic chair the school was so generous to make sure they had enough. She had her favorite Coffee mug in hand as if it were mittens warming her soul.

Summer was about to start, a new schedule for everyone. First week didn’t start off to well. He didn’t feel good, still made it to his destination but called it a night. That next morning I checked in, he had my daughter with him, part of the new schedule. Minimal words exchanged, not abnormal for communication between us. He ended up not going to work. He hadn’t missed a day of work in all the years we were married and all the years we weren’t. After my initial playful thought of pigs flying, it sank in. Something was wrong. She was ok, so I didn’t think much of it.
