Pastel Blue
There she is again, she should be studying for her physics exam that's coming up on Tuesday but instead, she's sat in her window seat looking up at the pastel blue, pink and white that drift around in the sky. The weather is cool but not cold. She has her window cracked slightly open so she can breathe in the soft breeze that flows lazily into her small bedroom. The new camisole she bought is warm and smells like her favorite fabric softener. She gazes sleeply at the sky almost as if in a trance. The clouds float by and some birds dance around a tree in her yard, the day seems lazy, even the sun has cast her face down and hides behind her cotton covers. In and out the girl breathes, feeling her chest rise and fall in even deep breaths. She feels her eyes get heavy as her head starts to droop. She leans back relaxing her head on the soft pillow behind her. A little gust of wind flows in and tickles her cheeks, the cool breeze is refreshing and relaxing. Her textbook and pencil lay forgotten on her lap as she feels her body slowly melting into the cushion on the window seat. Soon her eyes shut with a final sigh, the clouds and pastel colors follow her into her dreams. Soft, Cool and sweet. Why was it so hard to focus when the weather was nice?
