Financial freedom and giving
I'm always inspired by the many people on a journey to financial freedom, who still prioritize giving to others. Even if your goals are based on amassing wealth, I think donating helps get out of that scarcity mind-set that being financially secure is all about. I try to remember that there are plenty of people living in situations where there is no realistic opportunity to get themselves out of poverty.

Kinder resolutions for overachievers
I used to be a chronic overachiever. I expected perfection and set ambitious, often extreme goals for myself. I would read stories about exceptional people, and rather than being inspired, wonder why I wasn't doing the same and set myself a new benchmark.

Using mental scripts to shape your behavior
Our mental scripts are the repeating narratives we tell ourselves. They are typically not a rational voice, based on evidence and circumstance, but a kind of automated self-commentary. They are the first, knee-jerk places that your thoughts jump to in response to a situation, and can be very negative, even toxic.

Are you micro-managing your own life?
We've all heard about micro managers and a few of us have been unfortunate to experience them. They edit your work in fine detail without giving feedback, they issue step by step instructions on how to implement projects with no flexibility, and they immediately solutionise without waiting for ideas from others.
