The Boy In The Woods
When I was a little girl, I remember my grandparents telling me the story of a boy living in an enchanted wood. His parents died when he was five; apparently, his grandparents were the ones to take care of him, but the story says that his grandparents were into magic. The boy was so scared for his life since he witnessed the death of both parents. He believed that his grandparents killed them to use him for magic since his blood was special. Escaping from the vast mansion, he ran towards the woods that wasn't too far from his grandparent's house. He thought he has going to survive on his own, but it wasn't like that. When he turned nine years, a group of people that lived in the middle of the woods found the boy unconscious.

Rose
Life is full of surprises; I can still remember that phrase that my grandmother used to say. I miss her so much. She was a definition of a woman warrior, she went through a lot, and she never allowed it to torture her. Instead, she went after her dreams. Breaking free from my abusive grandfather, she moved back to her hometown; my grandmother always had a passion for cooking. In 1960, she opened her restaurant. Mother used to spend time in winter with my grandmother, and summer with my grandfather. At first, my mother didn't see my grandfather for almost five years until he went to rehabilitation and proved that he could take care of a child. My grandfather, on the other hand, he was born to be a businessman. It ran through his blood. In 1970 he created his clothing line. He was good at it; he designed multiple dresses for famous actresses. Sometimes I wish my grandmother gave a second chance to grandfather; they were high school sweethearts. They went through a lot together, it wasn't fair throwing everything to waste, but what happened is in the past. My grandfather used to say that he was never able to move from my grandmother's breakup. He admitted that he did wrong, but he wanted it to fix it. He tried to show grandmother that he was still the man whom she fell in love with deep in the heart and that he just needed a second chance to prove it.

How has music helped me?
Since I was a little girl, I always have been attracted to music. When I'm sad, angry, happy, or need time to think, I listen to music. I was born in Puerto Rico, which, of course, means I'm Hispanic. Proud to be Hispanic, by the way. It all started when I was around five or six years old, and my mother used to collect CDs and cassettes—what a memory. Mother was born and raised in New York, so she is very fluent in English, not like me that struggles sometimes. She used to collect CDs of Mariah Carey, Shakira, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, and others. One day I went to my parent's room, and I found a CD; it looked brand new. Probably she hid it from me since I always would make her play the ones that were in the living room. Bingo! It was Celine Dion, mind you that I didn't know any English or I was aware of what kind of music I was hearing. All I knew was that I enjoyed it, and had a lot of fun.
