This year, I've started taking a long walk/jog every morning before work, and recently I decided to observe how often someone meets my eyes, smiles, and says good morning. Over the past week, I'd say about one or two of every 50 strangers will smile and greet me.

Inspiration ThroughΒ Failure
I normally do not write about sports; I just partake in them as often as possible. But living in Japan while being a Seattle Mariners fan has sufficiently destroyed my work and sleep schedule enough, that today I felt compelled to write a bit about the Seattle Mariners. Also, if I did not incorporate them into this week's blogpost, then I'd be suppressing a lot of what was going on in both my writing life and non-writing life. Something that's definitely counterintuitive to any creative writing.

What Is Your Most Valuable Currency?
What is your most valuable currency? I asked my wife this question and she didnβt know what currency was because itβs not a word she uses often in English. I also did not know the word in Japanese, so there was a long moment of confusion for both of us. Serves me right for asking such an odd questionβ¦
