Blood Snow
Heavy, pregnant storm clouds wallowed across the painted sky, splashed crimson and gold from the setting sun. Fleeing from the storm, tendrils of autumn’s distant warmth caressed Mia’s wrinkled and sunburned face. Each fitful gust sent visions of bountiful harvests, of celebrations, of what had been, through her mind.
