Reunited
This story that I am about to tell you is made up of true events. It is very difficult to go back through these memories. I have stored them away in the very back of my counciousness and forgot about them. It is sometimes easier to forget painful memories. However, in order to heal we must sometimes remember the pain we have endured, the lesons we have learned and how we survived. This is the tale of a very true friend who endured lifes most painful event with me. Through it all he stood by my side and was the most faithful companion. This is not just one memory but how a dog saved me from the hardest challenge I ever had to face.

The Awakening
I opened my eyes to peace, stillness and a deafning quiet. Waking up to silence was usual since I was born without the gift of sound. I saw the brilliance of a billion stars. Light was all around me, it was as though it was alive, a burning fire to show me the way. However, I somehow sensed that something was not quite right, I was looking through a moving glass, clear and serene. It wasn't until I moved my arms and felt a coolness hugging my skin that I realized I was under water.

The Watcher
I hid behind the thick cover of the leaves watching the mother. I sat on a wide oak branch under the cover of darkness. She looked around knowing there were preditors out there, waiting, watching for her to drop her guard. She wouldn't though, she was too new at this and so much in love.
