How do you get blood out of your shoes? That was the first thought that popped into her head after she realized what she'd done. She'd saved up bits of her tip money for weeks to buy them so he wouldn't realize any was missing. Then she told him that a coworker had given them to her because they didn't fit right. She could tell he was suspicious of the story-he always was-but he was too high to devote too much thought to it.

There are four of us now. I’m sure he never thought that we’d find each other like this, but here we are. Of course, his implicit narcissism is how I found him out in the first place-he kept his literal little black book in the nightstand next to the same bed where our shared sins had played out.
